Not tidied. All the hardware and software you see there runs/works with Linux except for the TI-99 and the CLié (installing Linux is on my todo list). Some real (non-digital) games there too (all run native with ScummVM, GemRB, etc). In the close-up is my current use system; open for heat dissipation. Nvidia 970, Intel Prescott CPU, 768MB RAM (all three overclocked :) The Dull and the other box are in-progress. The Dull's gonna be my Steam Machine (needs low-profile GPU card)

Valve's employ handbook, required reading for *every* employee, litterally states, "you have the power to greenlight". Anyone, *ANYONE*, working at valve can approve *anything*.

The Linux Version Of Moebius: Empire Rising Hasn't Been Forgotten

Am I the only one who thinks most games are fine on version 1.old of engine or middleware whatever even if there is a 2.new version of the engine or middleware available?

I mean really? There seems to be a lot games that updated to newer components and the game gained absolutely nothing but hardware upgrades needed and later version numbers in the requirements?

I see this in the thread, alot:
4%
Steam
1%

Didn't anyone here see:
Humble, itch.io, IndieBox, and direct sales
I'd be interested in seeing percentages for the non-Steam sales.

Steam Reaches Over 1,500 Linux Games, It's Not Enough

There seems to be a problem here. Announcing X number of games on Linux, or saying the best games have a Linux version, implies the idea Linux should be or is becoming more like Windows (Lots of games, Like Windows. Top selling games, like Windows). I meant think about it? Are we Linux users because it's like Windows or because it's different than Windows? How about focusing on the differences instead. Why should having a high percentage of games for niche markets be counted as negative? More Linux games fill a certain demand than Windows does, that's good! Lets list the differences:
More than any other platform, there are a higher percentage of games on Linux that have female authors and femaleprotagonist. In fact, Linux has the most games outright that have a Female protagonist (higher number, not just higher percentage) http://www.uvlist.net/groups/info/femaleprotagonist [External Link]
Your turn everybody, start naming things where Linux is better than Windows.

Obsidian: Developing For Linux Was Not Worth It

I don't think any lead developers actually look at that 1-2% and think 'we can do without those customers'. Rather, i'm convinced that they think 'those customers will just use Windows in (some way)'. it could be 40%, and still 'not be worth it' as long as they think that way. Until they believe there is an 'unreachable' 1% or more, they will never believe it's worth it.
