Is a source code port or is another windows game wrapped in winE?

Quoting: jf33Is there any chance they release it on GOG.com? Because I would really like to buy it, but I don't spend money on non-DRM-free games.
Coming from that company, I don't think so... But, if someday this game is released on GOG, it will be without a Linux version.

How big is Linux gaming? Some estimates

When I created my second Steam account 100% Linux [External Link], immediately I had a pop up with Steam Hardware Survey and ALL the games from the " Explore Your Queue" section were all Linux games... But, when I use my first Steam account on Linux, the situation is different: Most of the games in the "Explore Your queue" are Windows games... It seems that Steam stats remember the info of the system where the account was created, but not the system where the account is being used right now.

A new Steam Client Beta adds new Steam Controller features

To bad that the Steam Controller is not available worldwide... And VALVe refuses to licence it to third party assemblers, so this will be a comercial fiasco..

Quoting: pedrojmartmI did not know that G2A is a bad store, it is almost the only i use for buying games. :S
I don't know why they complain about G2A..
Is the only store where people can get steam games that are not available for sale any more on the steam store or important resellers like Greenman or Gamersgate. Example: The original Metro Last Light with all the DLC's that I purchased last night for my new 100% Linux steam account.

The original Metro Last Light works better on Linux than the Redux one... Example, in the original MLL I have Vsync, in the Redux version the Vsync doesn't work... In the original MLL, the image is perfect. I don't have those gray dots...

Anyway. I'm not really a BIG fan of G2A. I only use it for this particular problem and for to purchase Steam Wallet codes.

I used G2A for to purchase Steam credit for my second Steam account, 100% Linux, as, according to the steam support, I can not use the same credit card or the same paypal account on two or more Steam accounts... I didn't have any problem with the purchased steam wallet keys..

Feral releases a new teaser, something to be revealed in late March

Quoting: vultureand if that ever happened, all developers would simply stick this label to every game and forget about doing linux release.
Let's face it. To port Windows games to linux is a waste of money for the publishers, because we are only an small bunch of customers...
If big publishers like 2K, Deepsilver and now Square enix do the small effort to "port" games using the WINe layer method several years after the Windows release is just because they know something about VALVe's future strategy that We don't know, and not because they care about Linux users, because obviously they don't.

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTI guess it's Tomb Raider. Still I do wonder why they port the old game instead of the latest title. What's the idea of porting older games, when you could also port recent ones?
The idea of porting older games is to play them right out the box on Linux without the need of using tricks like playonlinux or something like that... I know they use the wrapper method, but is not the same than install wine on linux, then install steam inside wine and then, install the game inside steam inside wine.. We can not wrap games by ourselves like they can.

In other way, it will be cool if Valve include an official compatibility layer for Steam OS...
"This game is not available for Steam OS, would you like to activate the Steam OS Compatibility Layer Mode for this game?"

Disclaimer: To run this game under the compatibility layer mode is NOT officially supported by the developers or the publisher . Use it at Your own risk."
