This is ideal for to develop a conceptual game... You know, the game in alpha stage that you show to the press and possible investors in the videogame conventions.

Quoting: kneekooIs 64-bit really required for a 256-color palette retro game?
Why would you want to mess with 32-bit binaries on 64-bit systems? No one is using 32-bit Linux anymore.
I agree with kneekoo.
If it is a retro game with retro graphics using a retro game engine, it should work on retro machines with retro hardware and retro operative systems.

Quoting: liamdaweYes it will use sessions and cookies to track, so we earn a small amount per-purchase. GOG hasn't paid us yet, but we're closing in on the threshold for a first payment from them (so it seems worth it, even if it only pays us once a year).
Silly stupid dump question. They pay you per Linux game purchased or per general game purchased? I ask this because GOG know if you are making a purchase using a Linux machine or a Windows machine.

Anyway, I'm gonna buy Lumo Deluxe Edition and Silence (and DLC's) right now.

Wine 3.4 released with more Vulkan support

Quoting: LeopardI'm not saying Wine devs to stop , i'm saying Linux users to stop buying Windows only games.

I will be more open : Pirate Windows only games if you are in a so bad needy position to play them.
The Linux (or whatever platform) fanaticism is not good...
And to steal a game just because is not available for your favourite platform is really not good at all.

Quoting: Leopard1-) You will feed Windows market ( already massive ) and in a some way grace devs or companies with don't giving a shit about Linux.
If a game company doesn't give a shit about Linux, is because the CEO of that company doesn't give a shit about Linux...

There is nothing We can do about that...Well... In theory there is away: Big gaming companies like EA and Ubisoft are in the NASDAQ. If the Linuxians of the world buy all the stock they can of those companies, then it will be possible to change things.

Quoting: Leopard2-) When you bought a Windows only game ; you won't purchase it again when it is ported to Linux. So Wine development kinda forcing porters ( VP , Feral ) to pick not run well with Wine titles.
Actually, when a Windows only game that is in my Steam Windows account [External Link] is ported to Linux, I purchase it again for my Steam for Linux account [External Link]..
And, If you compare carefully both game libraries, you gonna see that some games in my steam for Linux account aren't in my steam for windows account, because if I can avoid windows, I will do it...

I don't do dual boot; I have two machines, one with a legit Windows 7 and another with Ubuntu.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm is officially coming to Linux, port from Feral Interactive

Quoting: g000hSomething I'm finding interesting about Rise of the Tomb Raider and Life is Strange: Before the Storm -

Square Enix are currently running Sales on Humble [External Link] with substantial discounts across most of their games. Now I'm presuming if one bought the game now (and don't activate the Steam key until the Linux version is out), then it would still count as a Windows sale (and Feral lose out).

But also, some of these discounted games are already showing Linux icon on Humble, announcing they are coming to Linux, even though the game is not released on Steam for Linux yet.

Check the Linux icon on this:
https://www.humblebundle.com/store/rise-of-the-tomb-raider-20-year-celebration [External Link]

It wouldn't surprise me if the Square Enix Humble sale ends and then the Linux releases are made available.
Two possibilities:
*The webmaster of Humblebundle made a huge mistake about Rise of the Tomb Raider.
*Feral is lying in their Feral Radar UFO thing and the game indeed is really close to be released.

Croteam will have an interesting talk at GDC this year about game performance

I support Croteam because they support Linux, but I hate their marriage with Valve.
