Quoting: JudasIscariotHey, glad to hear you decided to take another look at us :) Yeah, the new .sh installers are rather snazzy and you can always unpack them if need be :)

If you ever have any questions, shoot me a PM, I work for GOG and all :)
WOW! Thank you very much. You guys have done a lot since I used GOG last. Very impressed indeed. The Linux library is 3x bigger than when I last looked as well as the new installer. Cannot ask for much more. I am now going to dive into some old classics I miss very much. Picked up a new game (Star Trek 20th Anniversary) today as well. Thanks for all your hard work!
Our Linux technicians have done an excellent job with those installers so I will pass on the compliments to them :)

Quoting: Nor MantisProbably way behind the times here. I recently took another look at GOG since it is so popular here on Gaming on Linux. I noticed they changed their packaging method from .deb or tar.gz. On Arch I use to have to build the package etc, on the AUR people were tying to make it easy. Eventually lost interest in GOG but now its really easy to install games with their new (or not so new) installer. Very impressed, I will be looking at GOG now as my main source of games instead of Steam. Again I learn something new from the users here thank you!

Linux demo of the System Shock remake is now available on GOG
19 Jul 2016 at 8:16 pm UTC

Quoting: BraqoonI will check the demo tonight, but sceptical about stretch goals. I'm sure they are using stock engine to do it so barriers will be the extra code. Many projects are build that they got this one 3rd party library which is Windows only and whole Linux port is canned cos nobody will rewrite this to be cross platform.
They are using Unity Personal Edition.

Darkest Dungeon updated, has some needed Linux fixes
19 Jul 2016 at 4:04 pm UTC

Quoting: TheGZeusIs it as luck-based as many of the reviews say?
If so, I think I'll give it a pass. I can throw dice all alone already.
It's more based on your team composition than luck. For example, certain dungeons have enemies that are blight resistant but can be bled to death quite easily and vice versa. With that in mind, if you make sure to take a proper team for a dungeon then you won't have to worry about the luck part so much.

Also, you should always keep in your mind that these heroes are disposable and ,thus, you should not get too attached to them :)

GDC Europe survey shows 17% of developers plan to release Linux titles

Well, let's just hope that 17% of developers don't join the ranks of the article below this one http://i.imgur.com/J7mSTwI.png [External Link] :P

The Wine Development Release 1.9.14 Is Now Available

Quoting: InverseTelecineI really (really!) wish I had the smarts to configure Winetricks etc to get games working reliably with Wine, but I just don't. It's like another language. Not even PlayOnLinux works for me very often. I'm afraid the only way I take advantage of Wine is through official ports. But that's okay as long as Wine ports don't discourage native development! I just have to hope that doesn't happen... everything is so uncertain! Agh!
Here you go:

and the new one

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_judas_does_this_run_in_wine_thread_v1173/page1 [External Link]

While the threads are for the GOG versions of games, the winetricks needed, if any, to run them are all listed so you don't have to guess which one you need and so they should apply to non-GOG versions as well :)

Quoting: GuestThey add much support for dx11 but is dx9 support even complete?
It's probably not complete but it's damn close and they are constantly tweaking things here and there.

I haven't had any issues running any DX9 game yet unless it required several winetricks or registry hacks...

patch note: overwatch supported
They need to figure out the DRM scheme behind it first as well as get DX11 working about as well as Direct X 9.

You can keep track of Overwatch's bug here:
