Vulkan at GDC videos now up, with Valve talking about porting Source 2 to Vulkan

Quoting: PeciskI hope Sony involvment means they look for possibility to add Vulkan API to PS4. Considering Vulkan driver is so much easier to support and it is much closer to what they have now, it would be a killer move.
?????
Easier to support than what?
Both XBone and PS4 dont need Vulkan or DX12. Games are developed
particularly for their hardware.

Opinion: Why We Want Native Ports Only
5 Jul 2015 at 7:53 pm UTC

Maybe we should get more marketshare before we demand anything? Ideology alone hasn't changed anything.
Linux won't get enough marketshare, without AAA games first. And it will need to get almost every game.
Average user won't stay if they see a game coming out, that they wont to play badly but is windows only.

(but of course Galaxy is not even confirmed for Linux unfortunately)
It's in progress. [External Link]

Desura owner Bad JuJu Games files for bankruptcy

But perhaps the greatest blow to Desura was the arrival of GOG.com onto Linux and the announcement of their own optional GOG Galaxy client software.
I don't think Linux has anything to do with it. Both stores are multiplatform.
Linux is still niche market for games. I hope it will change in the near future.

I feel sorry for the people who lost their jobs and for the game developers who stil didn't get their money.

GOG Galaxy Arrives In Open Beta, Linux Support Eventually

Can't wait for it!
Really hope that galaxy becomes and alternative to steam, and more AAA titles will find their way on gog.

I'm happy what steam did for linux gaming but was disapointed with the latest changes they did.
Especialy game developers being to ban you completly from playing their games on steam.

Galaxy seems to go a very nice way with being "optional" in a lot of ways. If they somehow could manage to add Humble Bundle accounts to their platform it would be an absolute dealbreaker for me.

Larian Studios Working On A New Game While Divinity: Original Sin Is Still Not On Linux

I didn't back the game, and i don't think/hope that working on a new game slows down the port or even stops it.
I still wish that the game will be release on linux, especially on gog, since the last stuff steam did was really unpleasant.
I wish Lirian would be a bit more open with what exactly is going on with the linux port, beside saying it's in the works.

@liam

i don't think you need to defend the developer. But you don't need to be too negative about it as well.
It's good that you point out that there are no new informations and be skeptical about the port and you try to get more informations them.
