Quoting: PangachatBtw: ATI video cards might have rendering defects. This is game issue and will be fixed soon
Really promising ;)

Does seem like they may have put effort into supporting AMD cards with this port, which is somewhat redeeming given the huge delay. Time will tell though.

Steam is having a whopper of a sale right now

Quoting: Stupendous Man... I bought Shadow of Mordor and Cities Skylines from GMG for about 9€ each (they are Linux versions, I checked!)...

How did you check and ensure this?

Quoting: Stupendous Man... By the way, I bought them all from my android phone but activated the codes on Linux, I sure hope that doesn't mean the money won't go to the Linux devs ...

I don't know, but I just want to be sure, if I was at my PC within the first week then. I would be happier to buy via the app then activate on Linux.

So glad the sale is on until 4th of Jan, I'm out of the country and only have the mobile app, have to wait until I'm home on new year's day and boot my PC to buy up some deals. Got to make sure my purchases count for Linux.

Speculation: A job posting for Elite Dangerous hints at possible future Linux support

I would love a port of this, I miss playing it was great fun. I know they have a Mac Client already so some of the effort of porting the Cobra engine to opengl must already have been done. Surely it couldn't be too much of a stretch to extend to Linux.

I reckon the stumbling block I reckon is the fact they have to keep all x86 platforms in sync, what with Mac and windows players being in the same universe, any Linux users would also need to be in the same in order to give the place any life.

Quoting: MayeulCSo, Will splitscreen be available on Linux/SteamOS?

I would expect feature parity with windows release, and if larian have done their work well (which given the length of time it took them they better well have) cross platform multi-player.

Rome 2 and shogun 2 with the latter being the best in my opinion are definitely in need of porting.

Leak: AMD's new driver will apparently offer much better performance on Linux

If the AMD drivers can improve to a point where I get close to if not parity with my GTX760 then I will consider AMD when upgrading my GPU.

I would vastly prefer to have that choice like I did when I gamed on windows, as it stands being locked into Nvidia is a pain.

Quoting: maodzedunBatman makes no difference - the game is just terrible performance wise...

I had heard/read that the initial release of Batman was a trainwreck performance wise, but was unaware it was still a hunk of junk. Personally Batman is of no interest to me, I just couldnt get into the combat system possibly why Im not over enamoured by Shadow of Mordor either. Now Witcher 3 that is a game I would really love to see on Linux, especially having W2 already.
