Quoting: Mountain ManStill looking for a native Linux "Diablo-killer". Games like Torchlight 2 and Victor Vran are good in their own way, but they lack that unidentifiable "something" which Diablo 3 has that keeps me playing long after I should have gone to bed.
Come on, Diablo III brought pretty much nothing to the genre aside from some unnecessary MMO mechanics. On the other hand, Torchlight series had plenty of nice ideas such as fighter/inventory/carrier pet, weapon enhancements as well Steam Workshop.
It brought a lot more then that. The skill and character progression system in particular is a game changer. Also companions with their own gear and skillset who fight by your side. And the biggest: a nearly infinite variety of viable character builds.

In short, Diablo 3 is a lot more innovative than it gets credit for. But most importantly, it's just plain fun.

Quoting: DamonLinuxPLGame look very nice but this reviews... I found few opinions. One is about poor performande, dude with i7 6800k 4,5 GHz with GTX1080 on Windows have only 60-70 FPS and on little worse hardware FPS droping even below 30 FPS... So I need to know what this game performing on Linux. Next opinion is about boring locations and gameplay. Next is about price. 44,99€ is too expensive for this games from few reviews I see that this game should cost about half this price, maybe 19€ and all should be fine but for 45€? Too much.
There's a demo, but it seems it's only available for Windows.

Looks like GOG Galaxy won't come to Linux any time soon, as it's "not a priority"

Not coincidentally, spending my money at GoG is not a priority.

Funny how these things work.

Any performance improvements, or are we stuck with the same shitty performance we've had since release?

Steam now has over 3,500 games for Linux, with GOG having over 700

Quoting: Purple Library GuyThis is one reason why I'd love to see a redone, better Steam Machine launch. Or a copyright crackdown in Asia, because Linux can compete with Windows way better than with Pirate Windows.
As Bill Gates allegedly said, "I don't care if people pirate, as long as they're pirating Windows."

Even 5-years ago, I honestly never thought we'd see this day and was prepared to content myself with dual-booting and the occasional indie release for Linux.

But even as successful as Linux gaming has been, I'm still somewhat concerned about our minuscule presence and a little afraid, perhaps irrationally, that it could all just suddenly go away.

Valve announce a new game that's not Half-Life 3, introducing 'Artifact', a card game

Quoting: kalinI hate card games.
I like the idea of computer card games in general. What I don't like are the micro-transactions and/or hours of grinding to build a competitive deck so you don't get curb-stomped by an opponent.

Quoting: Guestunfortunally i do not see this getting any better.i mean if we had a game that was linux only and it was a decent game where people would be dying to play it maybe just maybe it would get some interest.i don't want to be negative but i have been watching this the past 2 years and unless something drastic happens with windows 10 where people mass flood away from it we are just gonna be that small market.i so want linux to be huge but people are not giving it a chance or just too afraid to try it.
Most people look at it this way:

"Do I want to keep using Windows and have access to all of the games, or switch to Linux and have access to only a fraction of them?"

As long as that disparity exists, Windows will always come out ahead.

Milkstone studios says, "We support Linux on a pretty basic level (we're not Linux users ourselves, so we have limited experience with it)," and then complains about low sales.

Here's an idea: maybe if you didn't treat Linux like an afterthought then Linux gamers wouldn't treat your games like an afterthought.
