The game is great, though. I am at year 59 and 60 (middle of the last red zone), having optimized up to there...

Quoting: EikeBack to games... Still playing 7 Billion Humans. I solved the two middle optimization tiers, but I'm still stuck at one optimization goal of the easiest tier. And the hardest puzzles are not too easy without optimization goals in the first place...Many of those are quite hard! I find it interesting that in the "small" vs "fast" optimizations, my "small" solutions often feel more hackish compared to the "fast" ones. It might just be me, though.

Looks interesting. I like some souls-like action!
Sigh. I am trapped in a never-ending world of rogue-likes.
Oh well. I hope it is good for people who like such things!
Edit: That came across as really grumpy. Sorry. I do hope it is good and the developer does well. I have no reason to begrudge anyone their taste in games.

I played a bit of this a few years ago. Need to go back again and see what they have added. While it is pretty fun in general, it is definitely better as a co-op game than solo.

"UnderMine is an action-adventure, roguelike with a few RPGish elements tossed in."
roguelike...
On second thought, no thanks.

If you have never played a metroidvania, it may be hard to know if you will like it. It is one of the best metroidvanias, though.

Quoting: GuestI'm just finishing up dead cells... how the combat in this game? It looks great but the actual combat just looks like hopping around and stabbing to me.Well, it is a bit hard to answer your question. Hollow Knight is just "hopping around and stabbing" in the same way as Doom is just "hopping around and shooting."

However, many of them did have excellent mathematical ability.
For a modern version, you should watch "Hidden Figures" - an good film based on these amazing ladies at early NASA:

Quoting: GuestI heard one of the first computers was made of a lot of people who where selected for their absence of mathematical skills to do very basic instructions on paper notes and then pass them on other humans who would do another very basic step of calculation. You might be thinking of this:

I am generally very patient and wait for sales. However, this was a day-1 purchase from me. Tomorrow Corporation has only ever made brilliant games. This one is no different!
I played up to level 26 is one sitting. I missed some very tricky "optional challenges," though!

GOG have gone on the offensive with their new 'FCK DRM' initiative

It is easy to forget that GOG is a much smaller company than Valve. Would I like them to do more Linux work? Absolutely, Yes. However, I understand that they have to do it right. Getting all complainy-pants about Galaxy is a waste of time and irrelevant to this discussion.
The Witcher 3 still stings, though. CDPR may own GOG, but I don't think GOG can push that hard on CDPR to do ports.

Quoting: istispAlso, DRM-freedom generally aligns with the free open source ideals of Linux, so people who care enough about freedom to use Linux will tend to care enough about DRMs to not want them on their games.Exactly.
