Quoting: liamdaweThanks for the feedback about the Wine question, it is appreciated.

I again agree the adjusted answers still weren't great. The question and answers were still a bit too ambiguous.

I've had a re-think on it and I've adjusted the Wine question to be much more specific. The question is now "When was the last time you used Wine to play a Windows game?" with these options:
  • "In the last month"

  • "In the last three months"

  • "In the last six months"

  • "Over six months ago"

  • "I never use it"

I think that about covers that one, in regards to getting to make sense and be useful.

Additionally, I am also thinking on adding in the question about how many games you play in Wine, as that could be interesting to see too, but that will come later.

I've wiped all previous answers to the Wine question.
Thanks for all your work!

I know that I suggested something similar to what you have done, but I now agree with Philadelphus that the yes/no question about Wine use in the last month is a more succinct question. Most of the survey is really about what we have right now, or have done in the last month, so it would match that much better.

Your current list is clearer than it was originally, but will have much more lag in the monthly statistics since there is overlap in the reporting months.

In the same theme, I would also change the question "Do you dual-boot with a different operating system?" to "Have you dual-booted with a different operating system in the last month?"

Quoting: liamdaweTrue enough, I've changed that to just be a No. Was one I added in haste but didn't really think enough. You're right, using or not using is sufficient.
It would be a much more useful statistic if you ask:

"How often do you use wine?"
1) In the last month.
2) In the last year.
3) Sometime prior to the last year.
4) Never.

The current yes/no question is impossible to interpret. Otherwise, you need to specify:

"Did you use wine in the last month?" Yes/No

Digging for riches and falling onto spikes in SteamWorld Dig 2, now available for Linux

I rarely purchase anything at full price on release, since I am very patient. However, the devs had impressed me with their previous games so I gave them full price.

Verdict: The balance is good and the graphics are perfect. Story is solid and the difficulty is always fair.

I actually like the slower parts that Liam complained about, since it gives some variety in exploration. I don't need action all the time. That is the beauty of a metroidvania.

My steam controller worked with no extra configuration (uncommon). However, there were a couple places I wished I had the precision of a proper D-Pad. It is definitely playable with the SC, though.

First playthrough: 18 hours with all the secrets (but not all the achievements). I only looked for a hint on a couple hidden things (out of 42) so the sidequest items are quite naturally "discoverable". I like to take my time so YMMV.

Quoting: spdr870Thanks for the review! I am glad you like it.
Thanks for bringing your game to linux. I played it for a while and found that the difficulty curve jumps very quickly upward, with very little sense of how to overcome the challenge. The first few levels are fine, but I hit a wall after a while.

I think I am a reasonably experienced tower defence gamer (completed: defence grid 2, kingdom rush, OTTTD, dungeon warfare, defender's quest) but your game started to kick my ass at level 6. Maybe that is your intention, but it makes me want to stop playing instead of feeling like I am getting better...

Just a little feedback :-)

Quoting: ElectricPrismWont fix the bad level design.
Too bad you feel that way. For me it was one of the very best games I have played in the last year or two.

Oh man. Metroidvania games are like drugs to me. No idea why - I am too old to have played Metriod when it came out!

Can't wait...

Interesting. I really liked "Never Alone" and the strange little point & click game, "One Eyed Kutkh". Games based on tribal stories have a very different feel.

Oooh. This looks cool.

The problem for me is, having finished the original game, I now feel like waiting until they release all the new content before playing again!

Absolutely superb game.

Quoting: stretch611Dungeon Warfare is a cool Tower Defense game. I also recommend it if you enjoy that type of game.
I picked it up a month ago and played it waaay too much. Looks really simple, but they nailed the TD gameplay.
