Open source RTS Zero-K is coming to Steam, with a campaign being worked on

The was someone asking in June (!) how close the release is: No answer was given to him until now! The developement / "marketing" aka community communication seems to be pretty bad, especially in the Steam forums. It might be a different case in their forum. To me it's a bad practice (actually the same Super Tux Kart did) to make yourself beeing Greenlit but then nothing follows. You should have at least a releasable version at hand before doing so. It seems to be pretty nasty to get the game running. Unfortunately there's no official PPA to do all the tricks for you.

EDIT: After following the Link in the article, it turned out to be very easy to install the game. Still a PPA would be nice, if the official repos won't add the game.

Pillars of Eternity: Definitive Edition announced for later this month, new content included

g000h, I get your point. Usually I'd love to do the same if I REALLY want to have a certain game. Maybe you should look at my former comment, for this reasons also smaller studios should sell a "Season Pass" in advance.

If I'd like to have some game but I'm not that much into it, I usually wait for a sale, maybe also for a sale of the GOTY Edition etc.

I'd be happy if all games that plan to have a lot of expansions or DLCs would be released with a season pass as well. Let's say you pay 150 % of the base game, but you'll get all updates.

Transport Fever patched again with some good quality of life improvements

They re-used the engine of "Train Fever" which was a big fault performance wise.

I do understand they have not that much financial background to do everything from the scratch again, but maybe switching to a known working engine like Unity could habe solved them trouble. Unity is far from perfect, but in a much better shape than their engine is.

Testing F1 2017 Linux port on AMD GPUs

Thank you very much for these benchmarks! I was very much looking forward to have those AMD benchmarks. It would also be nice to have a comparison with Windows with them, I'd assume the difference might be a little less compared to nVidia.

It looks like I could run this game with a decent frame rate on my RX 480. Since it's not my type of game I might just skip it this time.

Quoting: edddeduck_feralWe worked with Fanatec to get full support for their wheels on Mac and Linux starting with F1 2017, this includes Force Feedback, LED shift support and speed details on the LED display if you have an F1 style wheel. As far as we know we're the only game developer to have full Linux support for these wheels right now so we're pretty excited to see what everyone thinks!
That is such great news! I've been meaning to purchase a Fanatec wheel (mainly because of how easy they can be disassembled), but I wouldn't pull the trigger on such an expensive setup before being basically 100% sure it would work on all my racing games.
Right now only F1 2017 is supported with Force Feedback etc on Linux. But going forward we'll have it in our future racing games. :D
Maybe after having this implemented you could also update your existing racing games? That's why I used to love Blizzard a lot: They updated even more than 10 years old games like Warcraft III.

By the way, that about the cross platform Multiplayer in Dawn of War 3? When can we expect it?

It would be nice to have Mesa cross platform benchmarks with AMD hardware. I wouldn't wonder if it would be closer in terms of performance after all the love that happened to radv.

GOG Connect adds more games, act quick

Quoting: KelsDo you have to have the games installed for it to pick them up? I own Hand of Fate on Steam, but it says "not found in Steam library".
You just have to own them and you need to set you Steam profile to "public". Also, you need of course to connect your GOG and Steam accounts for it to work.

Just go for the appropriate ppa and you're good to go. Works like a Charme. Should I google the link for you as well? (;
