I'm confused there're just so few comments! Awesome news! I'm only writing by now since I had no time to check out Gaming on Linux for a while. Gonna download Mesa 17.1 on Arch and try a bunch of Games. (:

I do like the game! Anyone up for Multiplayer?

It's one of those very underestimated games. Sometimes I really don't get why some games are very well known while others aren't. I would also rate this one AAA.

Square Enix is selling Io-Interactive, developer of HITMAN

Quoting: KimyrielleSelling the studio doesn't mean they are selling the Hitman IP, no?
Exactly Io is just the studio they can technically get any studio to make it
Yes, that's possible. But most of the time the games made by a new studio are worse then the original one. If you really want to keep a franchise alive you're better of fixing your current developer studios. I could imagine they just drop it.

OpenRCT2, an open source game engine for RollerCoaster Tycoon 2

Yes, the developer got it on Steam like one year ago and abandoned it shortly afterwards without giving any explanation he did and without explaining why after people found out about it. Maybe it would be time to clone his Git repo and start implementing missing features.

So does this engine feel like the original game? Some do, like "Return to the Roots" (The Settlers 2). Some don't, like Ceasaria (Caesar III). ;)

You want an Open Source AAA game with Open World etc? Why? Just why? Go for a commercial game and have fun with it! AAA games do cost millions of Euro, developers spend thousands of hours programming and designing those. How should that be done in spare time? Also people do this just for fun, so having a tight schedule everyone needs to follow won't work. Having a lot of people working on it without even meeting once on their lifetime will make things even more complicated. One of the best examples is 0a.d. which hast great potential but has performance issues, bugs as well as a lack of assets. Don't get me wrong, from my personal perspective of a developer I do love what they do, but seriously, this game feels very different to e.g. Age of Empires which inspired them once.

I do love those engines for existing games if they're done well. "Return to the Roots" (Siedler 2 remake) is one example of a very well working engine. I haven't checked out anything Tomb Raider related yet.

Also, you might only like those games of you have played them in your childhood. It's not meant for modern times kiddies. (;

Ashes of the Singularity almost has Vulkan ready, doesn't have Linux on the radar right now

Quoting: Alm888I don't understand, what all this fuss is about?

"Ashes of Mediocrity"? Are we speaking about that one "DirectX 12 flagship" that was used by Microsoft in its PR campaign? The game that still lacks Vulkan support and was deemed so-so [External Link]? The one that is practically a DirectX 12 techno-demo?

I just don't get it. What this "title" is doing on this site?
Actually the developer said in the past that supporting DirectX 12 but not Vulkan is not reasonable since the syntax is very close. For that reason people asked if a Linux port will happen and they stayted that may happen. I can't find the source atm since I'm online with my mobile right now.

Also under DirectX 12 AMD relatively outperforms nVidia. A RX 480 beats a 1060 and sometimes 1070. This is caused by using a low level API efficently and I'd hope the same may be possible with Vulkan.

Absolutely an instant buy! I didn't have much time I could have spent on the game but I'll definitely buy the expansion and play it as soon as I can.

Feral Interactive are having a big Easter sale

I'll try to get DS4 working when I'm back home next week. I'm pretty sure Dirt Rally should be able to handle it.

While I wish I could easily buy all Feral games for full price, I went with the Humble Monthly this time. I don't even have time to finish all my Feral titles so I hope it's a better deal for buying them on sale then don't buy them at all. Still I bought some games from the Feral store in the past - some for full price.
