Yooka-Laylee released with day-1 Linux support, some quick initial thoughts

Quoting: syxbitI kickstarted this. I originally paid for a Steam key, but then switched for a PS4 key. Mostly because Unity has a bad reputation on Linux, because I figured this sort of game was best played on a console/TV, and because I prefer my PS4 controller over my Steam controller.
I'm starting to regret my decision. Maybe I'll pick it up for cheap in a future Humble Bundle.
What is wrong about playing with the PS4 Controller on PC with Steam and Linux? This game might have some issues with that on launch day but generally spoken that works very well. My PC is connected to two screens and to the TV which I use for Controller games.

Yes, "Heavy Gear Assault" which has almost no player playing it. Sometimes I wonder why some games are very frequented while others aren't. It's not always about the quality of the game.

Hopefully there're some people online, not like in this other game.... (;

Quoting: slaapliedjeI think it'd be great if laptop / desktop manufacturers could go back to the good old days of not supplying an OS with the computer, so that we could put whatever we want onto it.
What does hinder you to do so? You can easily deploy whatever OS you oh-so desire! (;

Yaakuro shows off SteamVR on Unreal Engine 4 using Vulkan on Linux

Actually I'm not interested in VR at all, but if it makes more people using Linux I'd appreciate it. We don't need the biggest market share, but having 5-10 % one day would definitely make many publishers caring about us.

If only he would find some time to fix the remaining Linux issues within the engine that would be awesome.

Serious Sam Fusion 2017 (beta) for The First Encounter is now available, with Linux support

Quoting: sataniceastI'm also got few wm freezes with Vulkan until i've disabled Steam overlay.

The game runs really great on my 1080 GTX with NVIDIA drivers, the difference between OpenGL and Vulkan is almost double.
So which one is the faster one for you?

The graphics looks pretty similar to the X series. Does it also play like that?

Arma: Cold War Assault released for Linux & Mac, but it's separated from the Windows version

Maybe it's good not to buy the game so we don't get additional eOn "ports" as well as we don't support this kind of behaviour. The publisher as well as the porter should make sure they have a fair deal and they shouldn't make us pay again.

I totally got the point but it's like Valve introduced "SteamPlay" but then "they took an arrow to the knee". (;
