Unfortunately those Mesa 17 packages are still in the testing repository on Arch Linux. I think within some hours or maybe 1-2 days it will be shipped. (:

Seriously? That's what they said? FUCK THEM! Actually their first game was one of the most anticipated ones for me to come to Linux - it was right before any of those AAA racing games, ported by Feral, was announced for Linux.
Nowadays we just don't need ignorant publishers anymore? So: Come one, FUCK YOU Blizzard, FUCK YOU EA, FUCK YOU Bethesda.... The list could go one forever.
Thanks to all those publishers, studios, developers of games and drivers, users, communities, those nice distro maintainers and so on - we should share the <3!
This really grinds my gears up, since when I spoke to them on Twitter about the original they said they had no plans, despite me linking to them where they said they did.

Also Linux gamers might not be required to stay or even get online. There's no Denuvo on Linux. Let's wait.
Rocket League should now perform better on Mesa with radeonsi

Other companies often support officially one or two Linux distributions but try to fix every issue.

Quoting: GuestBut still you guys buy the game and support Psyonix. Does that make any sense?Quoting: operaI wonder if the Linux version is still considered to be in beta? They never put a word on that again after the initial release. They do not support anything other than SteamOS and if you try to report a bug that is what they will say. They found a way to take money from Linux community without having to do support. I imagine these issues exist on SteamOS too (if every other distro has them) so I don't think they will ever fix them. Maybe Timothee or Gordon will but not Psyonix.

Quoting: harfieldI was hoping for a FTL 2 with something like an open Universe. I've dreamed about an Elite-like FTL... By the way, do you guys know if Star Citizen will come to linux? They said so. Since they can't even finish it on Windows I won't get my hopes up to high. Much noise about something that might turn out to be average in the end... :/

As you can see how fast we went from 2.000 to 3.000 this first perfectly to the topic of Steam direct: I don't want to see many games, but good ones. I don't have the time and I'm not willing to test those and return them if I'm not convinced, I'll have the chance to buy good ones in the first place. May it be Indie or, especially on Steam, AAA games.
Cheers,

Quoting: GuestI'm more concerned about the trash that litters the store. Developers like Digital Homicide can just release utter garbage and not care about upkeep. There's a game called Sunken that's abandoned by developers (I can't find their website or Facebook page either). Fallout 3 is being sold broken on Windows and Valve isn't holding Bethesda accountable.Full quote for a 100 % agree!!!
There has to be standards that Valve must enforce. If a game is in early access for more than a few years, the developers would have to prove that they are making progress on it. If not, their game goes bye-bye. If games are on the store with negative reviews (like when you search a game and you see a red thumbs-down), the developers would have to either work on bettering the game or the game gets taken off the store.
I hope that this is actual reform, but I know better so I won't hold my breath.

From the perspective of a customer I'd like to see LESS trash on Steam and not more of it. There's Itch.io where people could load of their garbage if they like to - Steam has had another way of dealing with games - now they want to grab an even bigger part of the Indie Games market. Why, just Why? I'd have no problem having one store selling major titles while others would sell smaller ones.
Don't get me wrong, I love good games! No matter if they're triple A or very little ones. But already right now it's hard to distinguish between good titles and garbage every now and then....

Valve have three new VR games in development

Unity? Most likely to show the capability of the engine to make other studios release VR games.
There's almost nothing related with gaming on Linux that I might be interested less then VR.

GDC sounds like it will be fun this year with AMD, NVIDIA, Khronos, Unity & Croteam all talking Vulkan

In addition, converting GLSL code to Vulkan-compatible SPIR-V without optimising it may cause performance obstacles. Even if Vulkan and DirectX 12 are quite close in syntax, it's not all the same.
Have a Game "just running" won't help much, we'll see the same problem with overhead and badly optimised games that we have now while using OpenGL for ported DirectX 11 games.
