Well, I did smell the roses a bit and I'm not feeling like I've missed anything important. Took 65 hours, yet it still seemed like a bullet train compared to my DS1 playthrough. I've been trying to finish DS1 for years and DS3 took only two months!

Blazed through Dark Souls 3 after getting it during the Steam holiday sale, then finished Yakuza 0. Very satisfied with both! Then I went back into Dead Cells after getting the Bad Seed DLC and I'm working on finishing Dark Souls Remastered.

I've speculated that they'd buy at least a chunk of Canonical at some point ever since there were IPO rumors in 2017, I'm just not sure about when. They seem to be more and more aligned so it wouldn't surprise me.

All I ever get from GFN after trying to start a game is "There was a problem starting your session. Try again." This is the same whether I'm using the GFN wrapper or Chromium. So I'm happy I can now view this message in a new way :)

Yeah, when I did try to argue, it usually boiled down to that person not wanting to know or hear anything about Linux (not even that others might use it). Or they were people who didn't mind the telemetry in Win 10. Which is fine, if someone is happy with their operating system, why can't they just be happy with their operating system? I don't see why they feel it's necessary to attack or try to convert those who use a different one.

Oh well. Yes, I prefer it on GOL. If I'm ever called a stupid cunt here, I want it to be because I was being a stupid cunt, not because of my operating system choice.

I wasn't entirely serious, I hoped the tongue emoji would set the tone.

But what was serious is that I really dread revealing I'm on Linux in most gamer communities and only do it when I have to. Either they make Linux the scapegoat for any problems you might have, they try to convert you to Windows or they start insulting you (calling you a cheapskate, a hippie, etc.) so that any productive discussion is pretty much killed.

I've not insulted Windows or macOS (or Android or iOS) users ever, so I'm not sure "everyone's insulting everyone" is really apt. But I'm mostly just in two gaming communities now, one of them GOL, so I don't know if the tone everywhere else is like on the IGN message boards of circa. 2002.
