Using both, alternatively for the moment. X because that's where everything (still) works and Wayland because eventually I have to get used with it and its quirks.
I think Wayland is in pretty good shape now, the one thing that still doesn't work (and probably will not work for a long while) is mouse cursor shown when using the Steam Controller. Which is practically a game breaker, since I use SC for everything (game related). There are several workarounds but none satisfactory, so at the moment I mostly use Wayland, but when I'm gaming I'm back on X.

Anyone able to use it on regular desktop? Installs fine on SteamDeck and runs excellent, on desktop though I'm able to install it but hangs at the point where is supposed to show you the pin.

Edit:
I saw the installer checking for the OS used, so I spoofed it with Steamos, reinstall etc, but the login issues remained. Turns out though, you can check the logs and manually opening the auth link is supposed to be given and finally log in. At this point the app seems to be working just fine, until you try to launch a game :) ...when it fails again when checking the connection with the cloud servers.

Perhaps a silly question but could Bazzite be a good replacement for SteamOS on a Steam Deck?
Does it do anything better?

Not a silly question at all, experimentation is fun, but honestly I'd still stick with Valve's system.
If you think/hope that just a recent kernel/driver will make a significant improvement in performance you could always switch to the "Main" channel updates, where they have more recent ones. But besides, even since the times of SteamOS 1/2, Valve always carefully patched their releases with whatever was needed for performance and security, so don't get discouraged just because you see they still use "ancient" kernels. Steam Deck is their baby/hardware, I'll bet you that they take good care of it.
As for extra features or improvements not officially present/preinstalled there's always Decky Loader with a trove of goodies.
Where Bazzite shines is general hardware support, hardware that Valve doesn't support (for now).

While I'm disappointed with their choice of UE instead of Source, I must say that it does feel and look like Source (pretty much felt like Black Mesa) at least on the medium/low settings that I've used. Identical, no, but one minute in and I forgot is made in UE, sensation enforced by their evident efforts to mimic everything Source, gun-play, movements, physics, hud, sounds and even the menus.
Curious about future developments in terms of story, which from what I remember is inspired by Marc Laidlaw's Epistle Three. I understand that there are some controversies around it (even the author regretted writing it), but I believe it still has value for Half Life universe.

For AMD, it seems to be from GCN 3.0 and earlier; GCN 4.0+ supports Vulkan 1.3. In AMD's case, it's cards from around 2015 and earlier that are stuck on Vulkan 1.2.

IIRC all AMD GPUs since GCN support Vulkan 1.3 through RADV.
