Quoting: wvstolzingSpeaking of source ports, I'd really like this one to get some support on Linux: https://www.doomretro.com/ [External Link]
Although it's presented as a windows-only source port, it used to build & run very well on Linux, but since about a year ago I started getting all sorts of problems with sound; so I gave up, and went back to chocolate-doom.
The maintainer/author of that particular port is a through-and-through Windows fan. Won't touch anything else.

Sadly... is valid, because is working!
It has no place in FOSS-philosophy, even when there's a proprietary store front in middle.
People need to stop viewing Linux as FOSS-exclusive. It ain't, and it won't build the momentum required unless big-money gets behind it (as evidenced by Valve pushing it).

I recently picked up a budget knockoff of the Google Cardboard VR, and wow... Honestly, until you try it, it's hard to get excited about it - and the Cardboard VR is a bloody brilliant way to get on board. So I've gone and ordered a Samsung Gear VR to tide me over until I'm allowed to purchase a Vive.

Y'all should get a Google Cardboard and have a play.

Except you know, time and money... I don't think 3DRealms has the luxury it used to have.
