Cities: Skylines - Green Cities expansion announced and it sounds awesome

Quoting: Purple Library Guy
Quoting: Mountain Man"Eco-friendly", huh? So will it feature "green" industries that bleed your tax coffers dry with nothing to show for it before suddenly declaring bankruptcy?
Thing about the old fossil fuel model is, it's a set of resources. Basically it's about mining. Thing about the new green model is, it's a set of technologies. It's unwise to bet on a resource against a technology. The resource just gets scarcer and more expensive; the technology just gets more advanced.
Plus, no animal (but [some] men) shits where it sits/lives :)

@Liam, sharing is not working, is it? (Via Twitter) Looks strange in FF at least.

RimWorld alpha 16 'Wanderlust' is a massive update

Quoting: lave"Wanderlust" .. always feels awkward to see german words used in other languages that you dont ever hear in germany. Is Wanderlust somehow part of english vocabulary now, like kindergarden?
Wanderlust is not really used in German, true. Today it translates more to "Fernweh" than to the actual joy of hiking.

I leave this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wanderlust [External Link] although it's pretty easy to find ;)

Albion Online is to get another impressive content update named 'Faye'
16 Nov 2016 at 9:29 pm UTC

Great! Now if only this could be played without sudoing :/

What I find nice about Albion is, that apart from the zoning and rather small areas it does still feel like a MMORPG instead of all that "Massively Singleplayer Online Game" (No Multiplayer, no Role-playing) that has spread since a few years. I still remember the ol' times, when you actually cared for other players, your reputation etc. Fun times!

Of course today farming and preparing a few hours for a 5+ hour dungeon (!) (not raid!) would not fit into my work-schedule and other activities, but still, if I play a game I like the sandbox part way more than the themepark :)

Off-topic:

With my new Radeon 470, newest mesa, gallium-nine-git and some tweaks I can run Guild Wars 2 very nicely under Archlinux. It's not native, mind, but I can do RvR and pretty much everything, apart from Divinity's Reach where frames drop under 30 for some areas, it's constantly between 40-65 fps! (everything pretty much maxed out, apart from anti-aliasing)

That's nice for me as I still enjoy GW2, but don't really feel like booting Windows for any game.

'Cossacks 3' officially due on Linux in the second half of October

Yay, looking forward to this game. Just hoping that all major bugs have been tackled by then. Looks like an awesome game (especially considering the pricetag), just after my taste, that was released a bit too early... but alas, so are the times.

Team Fortress 2 'Meet Your Match' major update teased, sounds exciting
7 Jul 2016 at 4:28 pm UTC

Woo, you got me there!

Didn't play in a while and now I started a bit scared, but everything running at 60fps+ on my system still. Would be a shame otherwise. I mean that game is roughly 9 years old now and I played it from minute one.

Regarding my system:

Archlinux
AMD 6950HD 2GB
Mesa (r600) driver

also playing in 1920x1200, so over full hd, but nothing fancy like 1440p or even 4k.
Everything is maxed out though.

Not sure why the performance is so bad for some, but I hope it gets improved again. Still a great game after all

I agree. "Seasons" would've been the best model for me personally I guess.
