AMD will be showing off their Zen CPU Architecture and letting people play with it on December 13th

Quoting: Comandante oardoI want the return of the old fashion CPUs: A pure CPU only. I don't want to pay for an integrated GPU garbage that I will not use.

I really miss the old AMD days of CPUs with hidden cores.
One of the few upsides to integrated GPUs is they usually come with hardware encoders/decoders. They're also a nice, handy backup for when everything decides to break on you.

What one game would blow your mind if it came to Linux & SteamOS?

Fallout 4.

Or Skyrim.

Or GTA 5.

Or Homeworld.

Oh, crap, I could go on forever. I can't limit it to one!

Quoting: AnxiousInfusionI guess we can say WINE is spiritually the new DOSbox. There is an entire horde of games from between ~1999 to ~2007 that could use these faux-ports. Like you say, I don't really care how they get to my display so long as the installation and runtime is seamless.
To be fair: Wine has been around a LOT longer than DOSBox. It's also still being updated. I've not seen a new release of DOSbox in.... over 4 years now.
There are some forks of DOSBox out there, but I think the important thing is that DOSBox works Well Enough (TM).

I'm sure it could be better, though.

(sidenote, Chris Roberts (of Wing Commander and Star Citizen fame) only saw that video just recently, in spite of having, y'know, lived it's message...)

Quoting: RichieEBAmazing, I really hope they focus on this game. This was a game that I had wished to be on Linux to play in my spare time and now it's actually happening. ArmA 3 and 7 Days To Die for the win.
It _happened_ 18 months ago ...
Well, kind of. I mean, their Linux version is always behind the Windows version, so I can't play with my friends from Linux :(

What have you been playing recently, and what do you think?
