Allegedly it's faster, with less complicated cli options, etc.

Quoting: HohlraumI love what Fedora does but once I started using other package systems 25+ years ago it's really hard to give up the massive package repositories provided by deb and arch based distributions. Finally, they've tried for years to improve the speed of their package managers but they are terrible every time I give them a try.A rewrite of dnf (dnf5 -> https://dnf5.readthedocs.io/en/latest/about.html) [External Link] is supposed to become default on Fedora 39. It can be installed on F38 too; though I believe it conflicts in undocumented ways with the stock dnf.

Cinnamon has a really good implementation of the 'exposé' view (though lacking per-app exposé which is the most useful mode, imho); I *believe* it's based on/forked from compiz's Expo & Scale effects, but works a lot smoother than they do on MATE.
One annoyance, though, is that you can't seem to turn off the windows fanning out per *desktop*, in desktop view -- which makes selecting a desktop with the mouse frustrating, because you end up 'raising' a window that you didn't intend to.
If I can find a way to turn that off, I'm even considering to switch to Cinnamon from Xfce.

The Steam Deck is a game, of course; if it weren't it would've had a keyboard.

Quoting: MarlockPPS: How do you folks get Civ2 to play nice on Linux with the City Advisors? Anyone has a foolproof recipe? I dearly miss Elvis!!! (and can you honestly say the cosplay film bits weren't pure endearing eye candy pushing the boundaries of what the technology allowed back then?)My solution was to run Windows 3.1 inside dosbox -- which works surprisingly well.

The first thing it comes to my mind is ... does it have an actual AI? As opposed to the system Civilization has had in place since 1993 (?) where computer players suffer no penalties, need no resources, & randomly produce whatever and throw it at the human player, while the handicaps on the human player grow exponentially on each 'difficulty level'.
- GOG now using AI generated images on their store
- Open Gaming Collective (OGC) formed to push Linux gaming even further
- Valve's in-development game Deadlock just got a massive upgrade
- GPD claim the WIN 5 is getting an official Bazzite Linux adaptation but the Bazzite team say otherwise
- AMD confirm the Ryzen 7 9850X3D launch date and pricing
