I tried to keep it compact -_- BTW, I wouldn't mind having a survey functionality here on GoL in the comments like they did on Twitter.

Quoting: BrisseYaay, it moved into the "very soon" sector of the port radar now :)

Everyone, take this quick poll, please:

[ ] Yeah!
[ ] Hell yeah!

Gleaner Heights, a farming sim like Stardew Valley that's a little on the darker side is now on Linux

Oh, I love such happy-go-lucky games going dark! It adds contrast and depth to the genre. I haven't finished SDV though, might do that first but will keep an eye on this one.

Quoting: BeamboomSteam could just as well implement a system where one can simply subscribe to a developer. Auto-purchase anything put out by them.

I'd just throw Feral in there and be done with it.
Dear Lord Gaben, I have a single wish, can you grant it? It's right there, in the quote! I know, it's not Christmas yet but PLEASE!

Quoting: NerdRageStudiosin fact I recently gave a talk on Pro Indie Dev about how I designed and delivered my last game Jump Gunners, on time to the day planned :)
I consider this ability some sort of superpower. Learning to code is hella easy, setting deadlines and perfectly matching them? Nearly impossible. It's like clairvoyance, you should clearly see the future problems you're gonna encounter and estimate the time required to solve them. And at the same time not to set the deadline to 10 years from now. Like I said, nearly impossible. You mastered that, hats off.

Quoting: GuestAFAIK, Before the Storm was built on Unity. Is this a fully native version built with Unity, or does it use Feral's wrapper?
I guess it's more expensive to wrap Unity if it can run natively. But if the game uses some non-crossplatform middleware they could wrap it separately. Honestly, I stopped caring about this long ago, if the game can be installed directly from Steam and it runs without issues I'm fine with any porting method. If it doesn't start a full QEMU/VirtualBox/VmWare/whatever virtual machine with Windows inside, it can be considered native.

But technical details are always welcome. I absolutely love Factorio Friday Facts btw, they always deliver lots of insights into the real big game and engine development. And I'd gladly read an article or two about how Feral start to port games and what problems they encounter while porting, some screenshots/videos with weird glitches, workarounds they used, hotpoints found, cache optimization and such "geeky" stuff.

Quoting: rkfgQuite surprising, considering it's from another developer and doesn't include the main character from LiS and the main game mechanic (time rewind).
I didn't expected to like it so much either. They focus on the story a lot, so rewind is not something to be missed. And this is not by any means just a fan service game. The bonus episode is, but not the main game. I really like what clever ideas they have to keep you engaged, not just endless "talking".
Great! Often even the same developer can't reach the bar they set in the original game. The first game was "mostly" concluded so any prequels or sequels looked not that necessary and could have been considered a money grab. I didn't hold my breath on this one, there were some red flags, like, the dev makes a sequel and the prequel is basically outsourced to a 3rd party (= not that important) at the same time, the engine was changed, what good could ever come out of this mess?! Quick money for sure and then a proper sequel of the same or better quality as LiS. I think I've never been this wrong for my whole life, if they really brought new gameplay mechanics, the story is as engaging and the characters are as good as in LiS. A mistake I'd love to make more often.

Instabuy on release for sure! I loved the first game and this one has great reviews (94% for BtS vs 96% for LiS!). Quite surprising, considering it's from another developer and doesn't include the main character from LiS and the main game mechanic (time rewind). Such decisions are not welcomed by the playerbase usually, so it's amazing how they managed to make a great sequel. It's really hard to catch all the little details and the atmosphere the players loved in a way that it doesn't feel recycled or cheap. Looks like these guys did it perfectly!

I hope it'll come out in April or so, seems realistic as it's on Unity.

Reminds me of Alien Shooter/Zombie Shooter [External Link] games, they're like Crimsonland with actual maps and story. Sadly, they never made it to Linux but I loved them a lot and completed both parts. Maybe I just love mindless destruction with tons of blood and alien intestines everywhere... It works on Wine though as AppDB suggests.

However, Xenosis looks more grim and dark, it has no alien hordes to shred with big guns. The graphics are pretty, I'm certainly interested. But the release date is a whole year away and I'm sure it will slip further. Thanks for spreading the word, added it to wishlist!

The situation with 'Underworld Ascendant' and Linux support is currently a little confusing

KCD folks did really good, they refunded everyone who asked for that. You'd better compare such cases with the Carmageddon scammers.
