The share of Linux users on Steam is still holding steady

Quoting: ShmerlI noticed that but it's not necessarily true. Like with the Steam survey, these values are percentages not absolute numbers. It could be the same story, the desktop Linux users count grows faser than that of OSX but slower than Windows. Even absolute numbers don't say anything about platform migrations.Quoting: rkfgHOWEVER, if you look at the desktop market share numbers [External Link], you'll see Linux having the biggest share ever, 2.36%.Interestingly, if you look at those trends, most of those new users seem to come from former MacOS users, not Windows ones.

Yeah, that's what pops up in google on the top. Quite useful and motivational guides! We're playing 3 vs 2 AI bots (on hard) and it's a tough challenge. Only a couple of times we were able to beat them. The game requires quite a big attention span and some patience and teamwork. Overall, I love it! Pathfinding could be better though, large crowds still get stuck from time to time, especially on metal planets with lots of obstacles.

I'm playing galactic war every day now and I really like it! The game felt overwhelming on hard at first but then I read some beginner tips and started getting grip on it. Always expand, always scout, harass the enemy from all sides, don't let resources to be in the blue zone (that means you waste them) and you'll be ok. At least against the AI. BTW, it uses neural networks internally which is interesting by itself.

There's also an ingame very alive chat channel with hundrends of players and a lot of games in progress. So I can definitely tell it's alive. Played several galaxy war games, the enemy AI seems absolutely passive (maybe later it will be better?) but the game itself seems solid. Units don't stuck, instead actively kicking each other out of the way, UI doesn't crash/freeze, there are nice area tools like patroling or extractors building, there are height levels and chokepoints on the planets (I didn't see that in the vanilla PA, everything was dead flat). It looks like what I wanted PA to be from the start. Quite original and fun. Too bad the devs reputation ruined it for many.

Yeah, GUI crashes was the main reason I stopped playing the original game. The second reason was bad pathfinding and stucking units. However, as I heard at least GUI has been fixed in TITANS so you could give it a try as well.

I didn't even try it despite getting it for free as a KS backer. Well, maybe it's a good time to start. It has "mostly positive" reviews which is totally OK in my book as the original game has been bashed quite a lot, and rightly so. Top reviews are from the players with a lot of playtime, 100+ hours so it's also a good sign. This could be another undervalued game which a few players sink a lot of time in and others just don't get it.

Starcraft I works, played only one singleplayer mission but it's really flawless. Thanks, Wine devs!

Considering the game is from Russian devs it's not a coincidence that the name is a cross-language euphemism joke for this [External Link]. From the Steam reviews it seems that the game contains a lot of references, jokes and memes, so the core gameplay mechanic isn't that important. I might give it a try.
