Deus Ex: Mankind Divided looks like it may be getting a Linux & SteamOS release

Quoting: EhvisHaving those without Denuvo is not likely to get Windows users to install a different OS just to pirate that it.
What if that is the masterplan to convert some of the windows gamers to Linux? OS X is much harder to install on an average PC so Linux looks like an obvious choice...

Quoting: liamdaweI don't use a 360 controller, I use a Steam Controller or mouse and keyboard. I do not own a 360 controller to test with.
Thanks, it seems to be an xpad-only bug being triggered by their enumeration function in eON as it also happens in SR4 [External Link]. But Dust: an Elysian Tail works fine though it also uses force feedback so the bug is pretty elusive.

Should be fixed in 4.7 that's released yesterday but NVIDIA's driver isn't compatible with it just yet (compilation error during the install) so I reverted to 4.6 and added steamos-xpad-dkms [External Link] from Ubuntu PPA. Works totally OK after that.

I've posted a support request regarding the force feedback issue and this is the response:
It is caused by a bug in the Xpad driver, which has not yet been patched. Our current suggestion is to switch to using xboxdrv instead.
:/ I'm curious what that bug may be as I've never had something like that in any games (with FF or without)...

So am I. Controller is still better for some games, like platformers and such.

Thanks for confirming, so it's not the kernel weirdness or something else. I wonder why Liam didn't tell about it in the review, either his controller was unplugged or the issue only happens to some models (doubt it).

By the way, does anyone experience constant rumble when the controller is plugged in? I have XBox 360 one and it rumbles like hell the moment I start the game. It doesn't stop even after closing it!

Quoting: rkfgSupports GTK themes as well so it also looks good.
<caugh>.. Qt 5.7 ;-).
https://github.com/manjaro/release-plan/issues/73 [External Link]

"QT 5.7.0 doesn't support GTK3 theming" And it's true ;-). Will be fixed in 5.8 though (hopefully).
I haven't seen any good looking GTK3-only themes anyway. It's usually the other way round, you have a good GTK2 theme that doesn't have a GTK3 port and all GTK3 apps either look ugly or use another theme (both cases are equally bad). So I don't see it as a major flaw.

Quoting: slaapliedjeAlso yes, GTK2 should go away, unless someone's going to add wayland support to it, but that also means that some of the really old Loki game installers should be ported to GTK3.
Well, why not use Qt instead? I used it quite a bit with C++ and it feels pretty good. Supports GTK themes as well so it also looks good. Qt's own themes don't appeal to me for some reason. It can be linked dynamically (under LGPL so it plays nicely with proprietary software) with a relatively small footprint of ~10 Mb by today's standards, I don't see any downsides.

As for the game, I completed it long ago on Windows and it was damn good. Gonna play it thoroughly again and then hopefully play Overlord 2 which ran like shit for me on Wine years ago. Expecting "more of the same" and that's a good thing.

Don't fret, I've just bought it and here's what the order screen looks like:

What's funnier is that the URL isn't bound to the purchase/account/session in any way, it's just a direct link to the cloudfront.net CDN and you can download with wget or whatever. So if you have that URL you technically don't need to pay (I don't encourage you to share it of course).

It seems that I sank about 24 hours into this game in just two days... probably should be a good one. I guess.
