Samsai, have you considered throwing this up on the itch.io list of jams [External Link], or are you keen to keep everything here on GOL?

I'm probably going to keep it private and share the link on GOL and associated social medias to keep it under closer control. But the next jam after this one could very well end up on the public jam list. This is sort of the practise run after all and we are all still trying to figure stuff out, so making it public to the whole itch.io space might not be that great quite yet.

So will the link be up on the Website if its time for the Jam?

To be honest, I never have played any Half Life Game other than the weird Dreamcast Version of HL1. I grew up watching my brothers play games, and this is what I still do a lot of times. Just open up YouTube and watch a good Walkthrough of a good game. Some people look weird at me when I'm telling them that I don't want to play, I just want to watch a game being played. But I only do that with games that are supposed to have a good story, so I can enjoy it like a movie. And in the times of Twitch & Co getting bigger and bigger I think that is what it all will lead up to. If I'm not mistaken there were already companies shutting down twitch streams to prevent it from being shown to boost their sales.
But wow, I went way off track here :D

B2T: I never bought a console for one game. I only bought my PS4 this year so I can enjoy some good games that came out before I bought it. Oh wait, I did. It was the GameCube for Windwaker back in the day :)
Maybe my thoughts on that would be different if I had more money at my disposal.

But I'm having a blast figuring out collision between objects and physics in gdevelop :)

I played around with GDevelop and think with it I will probably be able to make a complete game. Even if it's a small one. It's easy to understand and basically has an event based "programming language". It's able to compile native linux and HTML5, so that would work out :)

Also i find it better to be part of a smaller competition, since it's easier to get feedback after you are done, and in my opinion feedback is propably one of the most important things to get especially when you are new to all this game development stuff :)

That would also be an alternative if I don't find any software to get comfortable with in the next few days. But I actually would like to take this challenge, it could be quite the learning experience.

Really love the Idea of a GOL Gamejam, but I can't code at all. I participated one time as an artist in a Ludumn Dare, but never really done anything else besides that. Maybe this is a chance to be "thrown into the cold water" since in that environment I function the best :)
Are there any Tools for Linux out there that can be used to make simple games without extensive programming knowledge?
