The 'Humble Freedom Bundle' is huge and well worth picking up

Quoting: buenaventuraWow, what a bundle, I already have many of the games, but still. I highly recommend Thirty Flights of Loving - it works perfect with wine.

Edit: I always get surprised that Trump and right wing idiots in general actually exist in reality, but then I stumble upon them in my own backyard, it's frightening. Oh, and that they won the election. What can you say? "Money laundering", OK.
Yeah, the idiots won the election, and they are going to keep winning as long as you don't threat people with different opinions with respect. Biggot.
So I should treat white supremacists, islamists, racists, sexists with "respect", because you know, they just have "different opinions". Interesting approach. Particularly since those I'm supposed to treat with respect show not the slightest of respect for people not fitting into their mindset.

Quoting: GuestI'm not giving money to charities anymore, a lot of them are just first world puppets supporting imperialism.

If i want a game i want to pay the developers, if i want to be hypocritical and think i'm a good person by giving money to charities i can donate directly, but not for games.
Sure. When "Médecins Sans Frontières" stepped in to help in the Ebola crisis in West Africa they did this on behalf of some imperialist agenda...

I suppose I'm gonna buy it anyway, despite the fact that all I ever finished in Civ5 was the tutorial...

Happy New Year from me, too. Let's hope that Linux gaming sticks to last year's trend of more and better games.

What game are you truly thankful to have on Linux & SteamOS?

War Thunder. Never before (literally) I've invested more time in a computer game. Runner-ups: XCOM/XCOM2, Portal 2 and Shadow Tactics.

Quoting: devlandHow much of a grind is it to play?
Depends on your perception of "grind" (and your skill as player and whether you are on the winning team). It's F2P - you can just give it a try. Anyway, the grind up to tier 3 planes and tanks (approx 1938-1944 era) is mild. The very last prop planes and jets (t4/t5) are a different matter, though I still consider the gameplay on lower tiers more varied.

Quoting: Sil_el_motI've read a lot about that the russian tanks are historically incorrect far better in comparison to others, mainly the german ones. Is this still a thing?
I suck terribly with both Russian tanks and planes. Therefore I never understood this "Russian bias" debates. Some single models seem to be overpowered and others are too vulnerable - but you find these in the trees of all nations.

Quoting: TrumpIs the drivers he wrote opensource? Maybe the community can keep it functioning if it is. Can't blame him for quitting, but it does seem sad.

Quoting: LinasCan you get refunds from Kickstarter? I always thought that sending money to Kickstarter is like flushing it down the drain.
Yes, you can. They refunded my pledge a few months ago. It was already clear then, that a Linux version will never happen.

Quoting: lucifertdarkI made the mistake of adding Snappy to my system a while back, it took me two days of fighting to get rid of it, every time I removed it a stray piece would cause the whole thing to reinstall, it's worse than a bloody virus & I want no part of it again thanks. If Flatpak is anywhere near as bad as that they can keep it off my system.
FlatPak is a hell of a lot better, very self contained with few external deps.
And thus begins the flamewar... Or do you want to back up your "a hell of a lot better" with some facts? (Even in post-factual times.)
