Quoting: KristianIt appears they aren't even sure about which engine they will use! There is a comment about looking into using Unreal engine near the earlier linked comment about a Linux demo.

Quoting: dmantioneWell, it's a process... many developers know Unity allows near-free Linux ports.

Then why would you need an extra USD200,000? Can't be attributed to pure QA.

Best guess is they are planning to outsource the work to someone else.

Well $200,000 extra in pledges is not $200,000 extra to spend on development, you have to subtract Kickstater fees, credits card fees, declined payments/chargebacks, manufacturing of physical rewards, shipping of physical rewards, etc

Compared to the funding goal of 900,000 (which again contain all your mentioned costs) these 200,000 sound quite "substantial".

QuoteNobody says that the entire net amount after that will go to the stretch goal. They might use part of that for other things/expanding the game or something. But even still an expensive Linux port might well eat up the money that is left over after all those various fees and expenses.

How can they estimate any costs whatsoever, when they apparently are entirely clueless how much effort it's gonna be?

Quoting: sergkWell, check this comment from one of the devs:

As usual. "We are completely clueless, but we promise nonetheless." As a burned "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" backer I will definitely refrain from pre-release funding.

Street Fighter V has passed the initial Linux & SteamOS release window

Quoting: SchattenspiegelSpeaking of delayed - was there not suppossed to be info about what is happening about the Linux version of "Kindom Come: Deliverance" on the E3?

I suppose it is pretty safe to assume that the Linux version of KC: D will never see the light of day and that backers (like me) got royally screwed by Warhorse.

Quoting: EKRboiIt is indeed cool that they are making new models, but I'm a little confused by the "For more horsepower" model that is $150 more.

As far as gaming goes the user will likely see VERY little difference as far as performance from the two models. IMO it would have made MUCH more sense to keep the i5 in the "upgraded" model but use the extra $150 to put in a GTX970 to go with the 1tb HDD. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Indeed. Around Christmas I built a rig with i3-6100/950/8GB/250GB SSD on an ITX board with quiet power supply. Was around EUR500 and is decent enough for most games. The difference to my other desktop with i7/960 is most of the time hardly noticable.

What have you been playing on Linux recently and what do you think about it?

War Thunder. Just can't get enough of the grind. Seriously. Even after nearly two years I still enjoy it. The constant updates of vehicles and modes and the really pretty graphics help a lot.

Dead Island Definitive Edition and Dead Island Riptide: Definitive Edition released, seem to have hidden Linux versions

Funny. A few moments ago "Dead Island Definitive Edition" showed a SteamOS icon. Now it's gone again.

Editorial: Valve have not abandoned SteamOS or Linux, things are looking pretty good

I used to buy practically any game that appeared for Linux. Obscure platformers, odd puzzle games, any Humble Bundle. Yes, pretty much everything. Nowadays I give "F1 2015" a miss, because of average reviews and a library chock full of games I haven't played yet (particularly Grid Autosport)...

Feral Interactive officially announce F1 2015 is coming to Linux on May 26th, properly this time

Problem with the reviews: Windows has plenty of alternatives - particularly the predecessors of F1 2015.
