The huge Journey's End update for Terraria is delayed into next year

My friends say I don't need Terraria if I already have Starbound. Still true?

I assume you can run the world on a dedicated server just like other similar games (Starbound, Minecraft).

I picked it up last weekend and put like 8 hours into it. It seems easier than RimWorld, which is OK with me. It seems like technology sprawl and automation are bigger in this game whereas survival is bigger in RimWorld. That's just my opinion so far. In ONI, I'm at the point where I'm like, "Ahhh, I need these tasks to be more streamlined!" In RimWorld, I was like, "Ahh, I'm down to 1 colonist again!"

ONI: Gas and water management
RimWorld: Food, medicine and temperature management, and aggressor defense

Kind of a thinking-out-loud post here.

That looks pretty cool to me. Looking forward to it. I'd also like to see if any of my kids enjoy that kind of puzzling.

Seems like normal business to me. They expanded their assets using income from their paying customers for said customers to use and made themselves more attractive both to existing customers and potential customers. It goes hand-in-hand with the release of the Paragon assets the other year. Their licensing model doesn't charge you any money for using their engine until you start profiting from it. Those are sweet things.

I hate a couple things they've done, but that doesn't mean they haven't made some good business decisions that were also pretty fair.

Steam for Linux can now run games in a special container

Does this mean a Windows friend could run the Linux version of a game? Like, I could finally play some of my co-op games that don't support cross-platform play? I doubt this is the case, but one can hope.

For some reason, they are still too scared to boot into a flash drive to play the Linux version of a game. I even told them I'd buy a dedicated hard drive for them to isolate Linux stuff and they could dual boot. :'( Being the 1% sucks sometimes.

It's too bad For the King doesn't have a Linux build on GOG. :( Or, better yet, itch.io
