Years ago, my daughter and I tried to play one of these cooperatively on Windows (it was probably Blacklist). I bought two copies of the game. It was infuriating because the game had a networking bug that caused us to disconnect after playing for about 2 minutes. Either the return policy didn't exist back then or I simply didn't know about it. I was pissed. It's actually a large reason why I stopped buying Ubisoft games for PC. It would be hilariously sad (insane laughter), if it worked over Wine now.

Quoting: liamdaweApart from going a bit over the top with jokes early on in the first campaign, it firmly finds its feet and it's an enjoyable strategy game overall.
I really like the over-the-top jokes. My friend and I are really close to completing the original campaign, and we have several DLC ready to go when we're finished. I love this game!

Fancy working on Wine to help push Steam Play? CodeWeavers are hiring

That's cool news. I live close enough to commute there. However, I'm not the right guy for this.

The developer of 'Rise to Ruins' is doing so well, they're paying back supporters

Quoting: 14I have Rise to Ruins on itch. I've only been able to get it to start up by installing it in a VM. The developer says the game can't run in jre versions shipped with Arch. I'm hoping that will change sometime. Since I have a pile of other games, I don't want to change my system jre to make just one work. Here's to hope. ^_^
Forgot to respond to this back when you made the comment, but it seems to run fine for me with jre8-openjdk. There is also jre8 in the AUR, which is what the devs ship with the Steam version (although they ship 1.8.0_202, and the AUR package currently packages 1.8.0_201).
Thanks for replying. I just now installed update 32b and the game launched on my main computer for the first time! I have the same jre installed as you I believe.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus officially released for Linux, more content on the way

Mechanicus looks pretty good I must say. I do wish it was on GoG.

There's a new release candidate of OBS Studio out with a VAAPI video encoder on Linux
10 Feb 2019 at 2:21 pm UTC

Ooo, VAAPI sounds great! I didn't know it was coming. Although, game capture was one of the reasons I upgraded my CPU last year, so I already don't feel it anymore.

The action adventure game 'Evoland Legendary Edition' arrives with Linux support
9 Feb 2019 at 7:36 am UTC

I played the first game until it got to the part where you had to battle random encounters. I know there are tons of fans of Final Fantasy games and the like, but, man, I hate random encounters. I couldn't stand it and uninstalled the game. I really liked the gaming transitions up to that point. I might pick up this edition, but might not. Looks like it's $5 for me at the moment.

Survival game Rust has a big Unity upgrade which should help the Linux version

Quoting: knetgreat news, too bad the loading times are not bearable on linux, i have it on SSD and it takes about 20-30min just to enter the game. occasional it crashes and you have to wait again. imagine having a crash while farming or raiding and you have to wait 30min to get in again, you wont even be able to loot smth out of your corpse by then. loading times on windows are still long but not like this.
The loading times are long for me but nowhere near 20+ minutes. From launch to waking my character, I'd estimate about 6-7 minutes. I don't even have my game on an SSD.

Chained Echoes looks like a very unique fantasy RPG with mechs, airships and dragons

I just don't like playing 2D games on my 24" monitor too much. It feels like they should be handheld instead. But this one looks really cool. Maybe I can get over that mental hurdle... maybe.

The Dark Mod, the free standalone inspired by Thief has a new release out

Wow. It looks terrific. I don't know if I ever knew about this one. I need to try it!
