Stellaris is the new early unlock for the Humble Monthly bundle
6 May 2017 at 3:25 am UTC Likes: 1

Quoting: constThe bundles this year had so much value for linux gamers, they are really worth a second look after release.
May: dirt rally, undertale, metrico+ and gonner. Inside may come later
April: Black Mesa, Layers of Fear, Tumblestone, Slime-san. Event[0] and The witness may come later
March: TotalWar Warhammer, RIVE, Poly Bridge, Uurnog, Flat Heroes
February: XCom2, SteamWorld HEIST, Oh, Dear...
We already got Inside. It was unlocked the same time as Dirt Rally. Check your keys on the site.

I've been subscribed since XCOM 2. I didn't want that one a whole lot to be honest, but the bundle for $12 was still worth it to me. Since then, every month that they tell you what the front-runner game of the next month is going to be, I can't unsubscribe! I think it rocks. I wanted the Warhammer game really bad, I wanted Dirt really bad, and next month is Stellaris?! It's amazing.

It also helps that I dropped my EVE subscription at the same time I signed up for Humble Monthly. :)

For the purists out there, you can gift Windows-only games (with no hope of coming to Linux) to your friends on the dark side. That's what I do. I did, however, keep The Witness because I really want it to come to Linux. :S:

The 'Razer DeathAdder Chroma' is quite possibly the nicest mouse I've ever owned

Quoting: PompesdeskyHi 14,
I'm using a G600 since a couple of years and I'm really happy with the buttons that I use in FPS games to quickly switch between weapons or do some actions. However it's a little too narrow for me and I'm not holding it straight (it rests a bit sideways in my hand). I just discovered the Nyth reading your post and I'm really interested in it. How's the software support for it under Linux ? Does Roccat provide something to configure it or is there a non-official Linux tool that does the trick ?
Cybolic beat me to the software information, and he's right on! The only info he gave that I'd critique is the software is in the AUR [External Link], so installation is a couple more steps than normal. Looks like you're on Mint, so you'd want to check their packages or Ubuntu's. I'd be surprised if they didn't have one.

When I put the slim side piece on the Nyth, it is quite narrow, at least for me. In that configuration, it feels mildly better for shooters for me, but since it's a different feel than every other time I use the mouse, I'm not as accurate. If you put the skinny piece on, overall width is a little bit narrower than an iPhone 6.

After trying a few configurations for a while, I don't switch anymore. Being able to get it just how I want was worth it to me. I would buy it again.

Oh, one of the selling points for me was the on-board processor. Yes, it not only has on-board memory like other gaming mice, it actually has its own processor so you truly keep your config on multiple computers and OS. When you program your buttons onto the mouse, it will keep those settings even if you plug it into a computer that doesn't have Roccat software installed.

"It doesn't come with hundreds of useless buttons attached to it to give it some ridiculous "MMO" or "gamer" label, but it does have two extra buttons on the side."

Use the right tool for the job. I have the Nyth and it's just about perfect. I have large hands, so I use the wider attachment piece on the side. I like several side buttons, but I don't need all 12. The Nyth allowed me to put a blank strip in the middle so I can grip the mouse as hard as I want without mistakenly hitting buttons. The far rear buttons are too hard to quickly reach, so I have the double-wide buttons in those spaces. So, I end up having six buttons on the side. They get a lot of use in, yes, MMO GAMES, as well as FPS. Get used to switching weapons using mouse buttons and the keyboard becomes too slow.

So yeah, the Nyth deserves "MMO" and "gamer" labels.

Before the Nyth, I had the Logitech G600 and the Razer Naga before that. I thought that the Logitech was a really, really good mouse, but after about a year, my hand started hurting because of the way you have to grip the G600. Since there are three main click buttons instead of two, you lose the 'ring finger' to grip the right side of the mouse, leaving only your pinky. After about a year of my pinky doing the heavy lifting, I couldn't take it anymore. It was a bummer. That was the only reason I switched to the Nyth.

I am excited for a good mech game to come to Linux. MechWarrior Online is one of the few games I have installed in Windows still.

I was finally smitten by this fun experience this morning when trying to play Dirt Rally. I will hold out another week or so before I taint my system with workarounds that I'll forget I implemented.

Two Worlds II to release on Linux in May, along with engine upgrade & Call of the Tenebrae DLC

Yes, it usually works that way, however it won't be counted as a Linux sale right now. That's too bad since, yeah, it's about $2 USD right now.

One of my friends said this game was good, so I am interested, but I'll wait.

Dota 2 has massive changes to matchmaking that should give better games

I rarely have player problems in Dota 2. I am not addicted to the game, but I do have 165 hours logged.

Also, can't you use Google numbers in your four-people-in-a-home scenario? Is that a loophole?

Hopefully it gets resolved before I run my next routine updates. (I don't update every day.) I'll check the status of this problem before I do so! Thanks for the heads-up.

Switch to a different distro over this? Ha! Haaaahahahahaahahahahaahahahahahahahahaahahahaaaaaaaa

Techland claim to have finally fixed Linux co-op in Dying Light

I thought this game was super buggy and crashy...? That's why I took it off my wish list long ago. But now I see multiple people playing more than 100 hours?! What?

Hmm, is it not possible to buy the older version on Steam that's cheaper? Enhanced edition is $60. That's... hard to swallow when I have other games I'm not bored with.

Civilization VI for Linux updated with the Spring Update, no cross-platform multiplayer yet

I know what the solution is: make all your friends get on Linux! Sorry for the cynicism... it's just depressing sometimes.
A ray of light is my dad plans to abandon Windows once 7 loses all support in 2020. That's also when I'll stop dual booting into Windows every 30-40 days when friends want to play an exclusive game.
I was delighted when I hooked up a tower to my TV and my step-daughter saw it and asked, "Is that Linux?" in a tone that was sort of surprised in a good way. It was Elementary OS.
