You absolutely need to try Mechabellum during the Steam Free Weekend

I played the tutorial and then one or two 1v1 matches. After losing a match that went to the 9th or 10th round, I lost. I thought it was good fun since we traded blows each round. But then the sucker had to say "EZ" at the end of the game. What? So then I quit because, why continue doing something that makes you pissed off. If I had continued, it would have been to vindicate myself. That person totally ruined the fun for me.

Now, I can play Minion Masters, lose, and proceed to make tweaks to my deck and think about strengthening my weakness, then try again. People don't act like assholes in that game.

These are all arcade style games from when I was a teen.

I'm fine with that. :D

Cautiously hyped for Light No Fire from the No Man's Sky team at Hello Games

Before watching the trailer, or even clicking into this article, I didn't want to be interested. But that trailer was too fantastical for me to resist. I'm drawn in to that setting! I want to play in that world! So, now my anticipation is to see how the writing and game design marries with the world.

KDE Plasma 6 goes Wayland by default, initial HDR gaming support

I keep trying Wayland, but there are one or two big issues that keep happening, so I keep resorting back to X11.

My hope is those things will get ironed out as X11 loses attention.

I don't get the whiny attitude when a new version comes out. Isn't it for people who haven't bought one yet?

Here goes my imagination...

My first thought was some company keeps pressuring to buy them, so they decided to make their IP a step less proprietary.

OpenRazer 3.7 brings even more Razer device support to Linux

Quoting: WorMzyI haven't bought a Razer mouse since 2013, shame to hear they're still just as poorly made as they were back then.

I used to use Roccat up until Stefan stopped updating roccat-tools (unofficial Linux userspace tools), I guess Roccat themselves didn't want to pick up maintaining them (or else didn't want to commit to first-party support), but I jumped ship to Corsair (using ckb-next) in 2019. Not had any complaints.
1) I disagree about being poorly made. They're good. As good as Logitech? I haven't had one for many years because they don't make a mouse I want. I agree Logitech sets the standard.

2) I really liked my Roccat Nyth, however it started experiencing a problem with the main click button. That's core functionality. I've never had that happen before. As the Nyth isn't made anymore, I had to find another mouse with lots of side buttons while still having grip space for the thumb. After trying a few from eBay and then reselling the ones I didn't want, I landed with the Razer Naga Pro (v1). I don't like wireless, so I don't plug in the receiver and I keep the cable attached. I love the feet and the optical clicks. It feels like good quality to me. The only thing I'd change is make it a bit longer like the Nyth was since I have large hands and got used to that.

Razer software? Well, I cheated and installed the Razer stuff onto a work Windows machine, plugged my mouse in once and configured it; now it's set forever.

Devolver Digital acquires ASTRONEER developer System Era Softworks

I have Astroneer, and I find the reward-after-exploring game loop not fun enough, even when playing with friends. About two sessions was enough for me to decide, nah, I don't want to play this anymore. Worth trying it out on a bargain. It's a cute style though.

Diablo be damned, Last Epoch plans to release 1.0 in February, 2024

I was more interested in this game years ago when my perception was that the pacing would be like older action RPG's with some smaller corridors. Once it started looking closer to Diablo with constant fast waves of many enemies, eh, I'm only mildly interested now.
