Core Keeper developer announced KYORA that looks suspiciously like Terraria where "every pixel is yours to shape"

Too cute to ignore, even if I only get it for the kids. Although, who knows how long it will be in Early Access or when that is even going to start.

ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN co-op spin-off announced

Looks exciting to me. It would be nice if a true Souls game had better co-op mechanics.

The trailer looks like a mixture of Monster Hunter and a battle royale...?

The Illuminate have returned in a massive Helldivers 2 update out now

If you could bottle up good times and drink it, it would be this game.

Slay the Spire 2 gets a first trailer - coming to Early Access in 2025

You know what? I don't like the first game, so a new one doesn't interest me.

But you know what else? The board game based on the same theme but with some big-deal differences (like co-op) is one of the better board games there is. I have played lots of them.

Turok: Origins announced and it's now a third-person shooter with co-op

Quoting: Leahi84I will be very surprised if this isn't mediocre
If the price is not high, then mediocre + co-op = pretty fun. It will all depend on whether or not my friends and I are bored of our other games or not.

And sales? Don't forget about younger audience who haven't played games for 20 years to compare against.

Direct3D 12 to Vulkan project VKD3D-Proton v2.14 out now with various performance improvements

Hmm, I shall try GE-Proton9-21 and see if that gets rid of the white particles in Helldivers 2 which occur heavily in the ship, especially when first visiting the ship before performing any missions. It can be so bad sometimes that I can't make anything out except for the icons that tell you an input button to press to interact.

Steam Link gets upgraded for Raspberry Pi 5 and Raspberry Pi Bookworm

This should mean I can finally upgrade the OS on my Pi 3.

The best Linux distribution for gaming in 2025

I don't think I'd argue against Kubuntu for a general audience, but for gamers I know, I'd recommend the KDE version of Fedora. I've been using it on my laptop for a couple weeks and a VM for a long time before that. For the more technical gamer folks, I'd say Manjaro. I think Arch is the real king, but only for the person who enjoys micro managing a few things (like me).

Quoting: redneckdrowSorry about that, I'm something of a Forgotten Realms nerd. I own most of the 1st-3rd and 5th edition sourcebooks (there is no 4th as far as I'm concerned), and around two-thirds of the novels.:grin:
I have read five of the Drizzt books. I really enjoyed the first three in my 20's. I will admit that reading the 3rd and 4th books in my 30's -- after experiencing other series and authors -- made me think I might be done with them for quite a while.

But, I have a lasting impression of Drizzt that will always be with me I think. He will always be cool. Maybe it helped that I made a long-term rebellious choice in my early 20's and left some things I grew up with, which I believed was for the better. Drizzt's departure from the Underdark lines up as a parallel, and I never thought of that until right now.

Quoting: redneckdrowThanks for the warning, it's very much appreciated. Companies are only going to get worse about this sort of thing (Getting tax breaks all the while.), given that the vast majority of gamers don't seem to understand why they should care.
There remains hope. Look at Larian Studios with Baldur's Gate 3 and Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, to highlight a couple of games where the whole package was great.
