Paradox Interactive on Linux support, it's being done on a "case by case basis"

I have all of them that came out for Linux, except the two newer strategy ones (Battletech and Surviving Mars), which I probably won't buy, because, actually, I don't play strategy games for the most part (I played the Shadowrun ones, but that's it).

What are you playing this weekend and what do you think about it? It's mostly Dota Underlords for me

Quoting: Stoney_FishI did find this :
Steam does not connect on kernels newer than 2019-06-17 #6326 [External Link]

I'm expecting there to be a kernel patch soon.
As it says in the issue, the patch is already here:
https://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/1120222/raw/ [External Link]
Works on 5.1.12.

Edit: And on 5.1.13, which you must also patch yourself, if you use mainline (and not distribution) kernels.

I was wondering how you could play Raft, since it crashes on me with UnityPlayer.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module UnityPlayer.dll at 0023:106b6d17.

Then I found out, I could run it with "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%" as launch command.

Still, why don't you need to set this?

Quoting: slaapliedjeThe nausea issue is different per person for sure. Like I can handle some of the worse offenders (like Windlands where you can shoot out claws like in Bionic Commando and swing from tree to tree) Mostly it's the motion of going forward when your body physically is not that makes people want to spew.
Somebody thought implementing "Segway-Style" controls in CaveQuake (Roomsize) was a good idea. Which actually makes me nauseous. No problem with Vivecraft (keyboard-style motion control) however.

Quoting: kuhpunktIt seems like you've never experienced VR. Correct me if I'm wrong... but playing VR games with keyboard and mouse aren't really good. Just explain to me how you're supposed to aim, view and turn around with a VR headset and keyboard mouse.
I correct you ;). I had a Vive (until I broke the base stations and didn't bother to replace it). The headset you use for head movement exclusively, movement with keys, and aiming with the mouse. And the only thing that's really troublesome is the keyboard.

Maybe something like a strap-on version of this would work: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/T9-One-Hand-Hand-Keyboard-One-Hand-Gaming-Keyboard-Single-Hand-Gaming-Keyboard-LED-Backlight-Professional/32705825192.html [External Link] Probably with less keys, and with the keys braill'ed so you can find them by touch alone.

Quoting: SeegrasEvery first-person perspective game would be basically better with VR, unless it needs a lot of GUI.
That is far from the truth. Imagine Quake 3 in VR. How are you supposed to move? That just doesn't work. VR is its own thing.
How am I moving when using a normal screen? Exactly.

Yes, there's a problem because you don't know where your fingers on the keyboard are, thus some kind of controller would help; but otherwise this works as expected.

Quoting: kuhpunktI'm still baffled how many people think that HL3 would be a VR game. That makes no sense and would be a very very dumb idea.
No, it wouldn't. Obviously Valve is waiting for the right time - VR is affordable for everyone in the future like it was for smartphones (2007) at some point, and the internet and computers in the past and so on ....
So? That's still dumb. That's like making 2 movies and then releasing the third part of the story as a card game.
No, it's like releasing the third part for IMAX-theatres, but not for normal ones.

Every first-person perspective game would be basically better with VR, unless it needs a lot of GUI. The Problem is that some people don't realize that most games want to be played from the couch, and not while standing up and walking around the room.

Meltys Quest, a completely uncensored 2D RPG full of sex is now available on Linux

Quoting: BreezeThis game makes HuniePop (even with the uncensored patch) look like an E for Everyone game in comparison.
It is. However, it's probably only E for Everyone in Europe.
