Oh, and I highly recommend Sword and Fairy 7 [External Link] to everyone. It's a great game, and incredibly gorgeous as well. The ray tracing on the jade floors is beautiful. Digital Foundry did a great video [External Link] on it, and that's what introduced me to the series. The DLC [External Link] is worth it too.

Is it enjoyable as a standalone experience or do you need to know the previous ones?

None of my wishlisted games is discounted, but Death Stranding at that price could be a nice grab.

PS: I got The Case of the Golden Idol [External Link] this morning after hearing really good things about it, but had the discount prior the sale I believe.

Games actually got (relatively) cheaper compared with what they used to cost 20 years ago, while the costs for making them have exploded over the same period. The problem is more the opposite of what you suggested - it's rock hard to deliver the quality people want for the price they're willing to pay.

Gaming devs also earn significantly less, on average, in the industry that their counterparts in other tech fields.

I fear, in a near future, we're going to be forced to eat their subscription models if we want to continue playing games from the big companies. But I'm hopeful there will be a lot of companies that will keep releasing their games to purchase, and services like GOG, or even Steam, will continue to exist.

Otherwise, I have a big catalogue of games already, and can either stop playing games altogether or just play from it.

Also, fuck off Ubisoft.
