The specs seem pretty high for such an old game. Anyone who has bought it do us all a favor and post some numbers. Was thinking about buying this for my laptop, but now I'm not so sure.

Why aren't there more games released using Wine? Is it a wine licensing thing or are there other reasons? Wine would be great for old classics like Deus Ex and Fallout 2.

Has Valve made any statements about exclusively supporting Vulkan (and not DX12) on Source2?

Quoting: omer666Not a serious suggestion, but i remember the last gamepad with a truly great dpad was the Sega Genesis 6 button arcade controller. Street Fighter 2 was awesome with that controller.Quoting: BillNyeTheBlackGuyI did this as well, but as a vs fighter player, I need much more physical response than this. If you know about a great gamepad in that respect, I'm taking any serious suggestion. But in the end, I know I'll be getting an arcade stick. I'm looking at X-Arcade but at some cheaper Sanwa-based solutions as well.Quoting: omer666P.S. : I tried some KOF not long ago on a Steam Controller and it was the worst vs fighting experience I had since the XBox 360 and its crappy cross. To be fair, I think it's the only thing this controller can't handle. I think it's time for getting an X-Arcade...Set the left touch pad as touch. I had no problem doing moves like Clark's running three or Geese's raging storm after that. The dpad is still better though.

Quoting: GuestWell if the rumors are true that the PS4 will support Vulkan then it is possible.Quoting: tony1abIf UE devs have access to the Vulkan spec like Valve and many others do, they could have upgraded UE to Vulkan. Valve working with Capcom could have helped them to implement Vulkan as well.Quoting: TheBossSo, who thinks it will use Vulkan? Be interesting to see!At this moment, impossible.
The games we are playing today (this month and the next 2) have been programmed 2 years ago.
And 2 years ago there wasn't Vulkan.
If Vulkan is released now, expect games in the next one or two years...
maybe some companies like Valve who are directly involved have been playing with it for some time, are going to be the first ones.
Also: this game is done with Unreal Engine. This engine handles Linux with Opengl. Unreal Engine still doesnt have Vulkan support.
We may very well find out during GDC in March and shall see.

Not really into those games, but just reading "right now we're targeting a release for Windows PC, and SteamOS, with Mac support coming later." made me smile. :)

Quoting: mr-eggIm starting to think this steamOS thing was designed to lure devs into just the Linux ecosystem and long term there not actually too bothered about it other than being an additional 'feature' to their software suite.Yea, I agree that steam machines were made to speed up the adoption of devs to produce games for linux. But also I don't think Valve's plan for steam machines are done; they still have VR. I'm thinking next year you'll see some steam machines bundled with an HTC Vive (and hopefully with something like Portal 3 too).
fine by me. it gets hardware & software houses developing more for Linux, at some point the Linux desktop will probably really take off ( especially in India, Russia / china ) and combined with Microsoft bizarre stop the desktop being a desktop philosophy, I wouldn’t be too surprised if the whole concept was a trojan horse of sorts to move more users over easier.
Valve are essentially providing the chicken..
