Baldur's Gate 3 on Steam Deck is 'absolutely wild' and aims for 30FPS on Medium

Quoting: williamjcmA shame the current version of the game doesn't run on AMD GPUs on Linux (except Steam Deck, it seems) if you select the Vulkan renderer, no matter if you use AMDVLK or RADV drivers.

The D3D11 renderer does work, but vegetation has some nasty flickering.

I really hope it'll be fixed for the game's launch.
Aww that sucks. I have to build a new PC to run this game, and I am definitely going to run full AMD.
Hmm, I can't confirm without the game, but there are reports [External Link] that look like Vulkan on AMD is working.

Oooh, that looks quite similar to Cultist Simulator, gameplay-wise.
What means, it's probably going to be great.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is quite good. Not as awesome as the first one, but good nonetheless.

focus stealing when a steam window is closed
I hope this includes the focus issue that Steam notifications (for instance if a friend is launching a game) steal focus temporarily.

Get a bunch of Rhythm games in this game bundle

Quoting: soulsourceI spent the whole weekend playing Melody's Escape 2 (I'm exaggerating of course, but you get the idea). It's an almost Zen-like experience, listening to one's own music collection and pressing buttons in the rhythm.

It runs well on the Steam Deck too. I mounted the music folder from my desktop via sshfs, and it works good enough. Takes a second or two to load the files over network, but that's only while selecting the track. No slowdown or stutter during actual gameplay.
Thanks for the hint. Kind of neglected the bundle since I already own Trombone Champ and never heard of the others. A Zen-like rhythm game that runs well on the deck, though, is really tempting and the bundle costs less then that game...
Just one warning in advance: The game does not support streaming services due to their license terms. It requires local music files.

Without mods, that is.

Steam Deck hits over 9,000 games rated Verified and Playable

If anyone wants to check the official documentation about certification, it can be found here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/steamdeck/compat [External Link]

What I consider interesting (as in: it annoys me) is the phrasing of the controller support requirement. It allows games to get verified that don't support gamepad input, because the touchpads are considered part of the Deck's physical controls. Any game that can be played with a mouse automatically passes this requirement...

Canonical want help testing their Steam snap package for Ubuntu

Quoting: soulsourceA Mozilla developer posted about Snap (and Flatpak) just recently, and I think it's a very interesting read.
Especially since it was Mozilla that asked Canonical to replace the repository version of Firefox with the snap.
I wasn't aware of that, thanks!
In case someone else is searching for an official source (which is surprisingly hard to find), you can read up on it here [External Link].

Turn-based colony builder on the red planet Terraformers is out now

Quoting: PhiladelphusOn the easier difficulty levels I find this to be a great relaxing game, just picking projects and expanding my cities to a chill soundtrack, while on harder difficulty levels every turn becomes an engaging puzzle to utilize every available resource and trick to maximize resource outputs and keep happiness up to stave off defeat.
The easier difficulties can be a bit off-putting though. They are so easy, that I can imagine that new players don't realize that Terraformers can actually be quite difficult; except for the first few games where you are stuck on easy mode.

The game is really challenging on "Utopian" and above, but you need to grind through easy mode a few time first, to unlock both, the difficulty levels and the cards needed to win them...
