I think the Gauls should just have been called Celts.
Would have better fitted the Hallstatt Culture, which, while it also reached Gaul, was by far not limited to that region. Hallstatt itself is considered to be on the border between "western Hallstatt culture" and "eastern Hallstatt culture", and is already located quite a bit east of Gaul...

The "galaxy wide city builder" reminded me of Perry Rhodan: Operation Eastside [External Link], which was basically that: A city builder where you could colonize many, many planets, and if so inclined, build up cities on each of them manually.
After watching the video it is quite clear that this project is different though - reminds me more of Terraria to be honest.

Bevy seems like an impressive upcoming free and open source game engine made with Rust

I wouldn't consider Bevy similar to Godot, except that both are open source.
Edit: I should probably elaborate: Godot is Object Oriented, while Bevy is ECS.

Xfce desktop environment sees a 4.16pre1 release, better fractional scaling

There's a workaround that gets rid of it: Desktop Compositing. It can be enabled in the "Advanced window manager tweaks" settings.
However it comes at a price, namely drastically increased memory consumption (resolution dependent - on 1920x1080 it's about 200 MB more) and slightly higher GPU load. Normally I don't use compositing, because the trade-off between eye-candy and memory usage just isn't worth it imho... Switching it on is just a checkbox, so I only enable it when I want to watch a longer video in the browser.
(I don't really know what causes the tearing, but I've noticed that it only happens to me in Firefox. Neither VLC nor mplayer have any tearing on my machine, so it might be the video output API used. I've set VLC and mplayer both to use VDPAU.)

Quoting: GuestI love XFCE too. Do they plan on fixing the tearing issue ?Are you talking about video tearing in Firefox on AMD graphics cards?

At first I thought "oh no, not another quantum game that completely misrepresents quantum mechanics", but then I read the description, and the term "quantum circuit" caught my attention. This might actually be an accurate representation!
Even better:
Even better:
Nearly all of The Long Gate’s puzzles are based on real world technologies, and it contains accurate depictions of quantum circuits and a 4-bit quantum computer, verified by scientists at D-Wave Systems, the world’s first commercial quantum computer company. While the commercial chips of D-Wave are iirc not using quantum circuits (but rather quantum annealing), their engineers certainly know how those things work.

The demo is on GoG for free, so there's nothing stopping you from judging them yourself: https://www.gog.com/game/spiritfarer_demo [External Link]
And a word of warning: I made the mistake and bought the game for console. Do yourself a favor and get the PC version. The console version uses the same fonts as the PC build, which are barely readable when not sitting directly in front of the screen.

Quoting: RoosterThe animation style gives me Battle Chef vibes. I doubt it's as good, but still.. Might check it out at some point.Played both, and Spiritfarer's animations are certainly at least as good.

I dug out the very first PC game my parents bought for me: The Settlers 2. 24 years after release it's still an incredibly awesome game, and of all Settlers games I've played it's still my absolute favourite (though it might be the nostalgia talking ). Runs perfectly fine in Dosbox.
Apart from that I've been playing Death and Taxes, and while it's fun, it lacks a bit of challenge.

Couldn't care less about Stadia, but Switch was announced as well - I might just play this game on console. I can't say why, but the game's demo gave me quite a "Nintendo feel"...
