Quoting: GuestTell me about one game that went worse because of Tencent.
A month ago they bought the Warframe company, are they putting some communist message in it with an update?
Tencent, and chinese companies, can buy a lot of enterprises because China is the best economy, growing like no one. If you don't like it you should change your own governments so you can compete with China, just like they did 50 years ago.
Market socialism is beating liberal capitalism, grow up and deal with it.
From my understanding of that, it comes from China having the highest concentration of rare metals in the world. The ones that are used in all of our electronics. So a mix of luck and technology is what is making their economy boom. Everyone else is just kind of screwed. It is the same sort of thing with oil and the middle east.
It not that they have the highest concentration of rare-earth, is that they don't mind destroying their environment to do it cheaply.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPAnd don't even get me started on the hoops you have to jump through just to not have your realm fall apart if you are stuck with Gavelkind.
If you can manage gavelkind, it is actually got the highest power potential. But it does indeed create a lot of management other succession type don't have to deal with.

Owned the game since release, I never had to resolve to murdering my own children, there is plenty of way to remove people from succession if really needed, if I lose some title but keep most I am perfectly fine with it, will use those free demesne slot to reduce power of vassal who are stepping out of line without having to redistribute until the next succession.

Even sibling don't turn the place red too much, it usually resolved in a more political manner, if division is not up to my taste and they aren't independent. If independent it usually turn red, but it other peoples blood, not the blood of my dynasty, unless there is a battlefield death.

Quoting: torhamOn AOW3, not even interested for free unless they remove the DRM from multiplayer. Too bad, the previous games in the series were great.
You mean LAN game that require online connection? Cause that the only thing I could find that could be considered DRM about the game, that probably more due to makeshift LAN support (built on regular net code), thus laziness, then actual DRM intend.

Quoting: mao_dze_dunConcerning CKII and EUIV they were both on other stores before (I bought at least one of them on GamersGate)
Then Paradox decided to go "Stean only" for the multiplayer as far as I remember.
It was CK2, it was their last game with a gamersgate version, was supported until India DLC release if I remember right, after that they switching to Steam only.

Looks like SteamOS 3.0 is on the way codenamed Clockwerk

Quoting: skinnyrafYes, yes, yes! Hopefully it will speed up updating drivers.

That said, the BPM is more important that the base SteamOS system. The thing is broken hopelessly not just on SteamOS, but also on Debian or Windows. Browsing special offers doesn't work. Screenshots or videos timeout. Notifications work or don't work.

One thing I wish they added was GUI to install games from other vendors, e.g. GOG. This includes allowing spaces in .desktop files. I know that we're talking about Steam OS, but I hope that Valve realises that without embracing openness they won't get far.
Pretty sure it could be possible for user themselves to add what you want, I remember a few years I saw online posts where emulators were integrated to Big Picture mode.

The amount of Linux users on Steam has increased when going by daily active users

Quoting: Luke_NukemIf Linux gamer growth had kept pace with Windows growth then percentage wouldn't have gone down. This does show that growth hadn't reversed at least.
One of the main reason, that Windows based user grew so much, is that Steam started selling in China.

Surviving Mars from Haemimont Games & Paradox announced for a GOG release

Quoting: GuestI don't understand this.
All Paradox games on steam are DRM free, no [External Link]?
All the Paradox dev studio games are indeed, but they use Steam as their version control system from what I know (as you often see them load hot code version of their game from steam, during stream), which make game that are still in development quite a bit more work to port AND support on the same level they do on Steam. Also the oldest game since they adopted that system is still been developed, which is CK2 and if you check GOG you will see you will see pretty much everything before CK2 is there, except for Svea Rike series and for some unknown reason, Victoria II.

Martian city builder 'Surviving Mars' release date announced with a new trailer

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI still don't see how those wind thingies on Mars are going to generate noticeable power.
Mars is very windy, it just take a lot of wind (like 70km/h) for the dust to raise from the ground due to low atmospheric density, but once it's off said ground, it stay in the air longer due to the lack of precipitation.
