I'm imagining a Steam Deck that won't boot until the magenta ink is replaced...

Manmade509: With Epic Games, I don't have that problem at all. I can simply download and play via Minigalaxy, legendary or HGL for example.
Indeed. Remind me: which major company sponsors wine/Proton and makes it possible for you to play your Epic Games on Linux? I've noticed a couple of users of this site who seem to have a problem with Valve/Steam but are happy to use their product to make gaming possible.

I had to laugh as within minutes the inevitable "FINAL.FANTASY.XVI-<insert group name here>" appeared!

This gadget looks kinda neat, and 20 years ago carefree me would have bought this and then started looking for a use for it! However, I have to say that the webscreen website is horrible: a triumph of flashiness over functionality.

The best Linux distribution for gaming in 2025

Whilst I certainly agree with using KDE Plasma, my choice of OS has been OpenSUSE Tumbleweed for quite a long time, due to its stability and Nvidia support.

I have a particular issue with *buntu flavours due to their obfuscation of the root user. Also, they don't have YaST ;-)

EDIT: Grammar.

Fighting Fantasy Classics plans to add full Steam Deck support

I had many of these books back in the 80s. If I remember correctly, I had around the first 25 FFGs and all four Sorcery! books. They were epic - especially the Sorcery! books - and I really should look getting the electronic collection :-)

Blood On The Thames is a Victorian London murder mystery now available for Linux

Looks quite appealing and has quite a unique art style. The Linux system requirements show 32GB RAM, whereas Windows requires '4 GB RAM MB RAM', whatever that is!

EA / Respawn now block Apex Legends from running on Linux and Steam Deck

Quoting: EikeI don't find Linux mentioned in the first negative reviews though...
I counted nine just scrolling down a few lines on the main page. Some examples:

"'Sorry but if we can't install a rootkit on your system we can't allow you to play the game.'
Helpful?"

"Cannot play on Linux anymore"

"Removing steamdeck and linux support is the proper way to let the users hate much more EA and Respawn. I couldn't be more sad to see one of the best games die this way, first caring only about making money instead of fixing the game and now force people to use the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ OS that is windows."

"Suddenly I cannot play on Linux after many years. Why?"
