So that would put as at ~6GB.

Quoting: MayeulCI think you're forgetting locale. On my system just `/usr/share/locale` and `/usr/lib/locale` are 2GB!Quoting: HoolyI think so too, they are probably using an A/B-model, which means that you have two installations of the OS at every timeNot exactly, they run on ostree, like Fedora Silverblue. It's a bit like a git repo, or guix/nix. It has deduplication, rollback, versioning, atomic updates. That's really promising tech, I'd have picked the same.
[...]
Or they use btrfs-subvolumes and allocate storage dynamically.
Let's try to come up with a basic estimate
- Base Arch Install: 100 MiB
- LLVM plus mesa: 300 MiB
- Web browser: 200 MiB
- Steam: 300 MiB
- Proton: 600 MiB
- KDE Plasma plus base KDE applications: 2 GiB
- Base Flatpak runtimes (freedesktop.org, VAAPI, mesa): 700 MiB
Total: 4.2 GiB. I'm falling short, but there could be more pre-installed software like Discord, plus probably a boot partition (might be a btrfs subvolume, not sure which FS they use), and possibly a "system restore" partition that might double the size, although I would personally make that a webinstall at about 150MiB.
Any other ideas?
So that would put as at ~6GB.

They are just shipping proprietary libraries and drivers with a linux distribution, which is not something that any GPL forbids, to my knowledge.
The only change from GPLv2 to GPLv3 that comes to mind here is the tivoization ban, but I don't see how that would apply here.

Quoting: appetrosyanAnd now i’m thinking how much better it would have been if GNU Linux was released under GPLv3. In that case we could sue Microsoft (never name a company after your penis).Ignoring the penis joke and taking your comment seriously (will I regret it?), how would GPLv3 allow us to sue Microsoft over this?

War Thunder currently has a Vulkan renderer under development that you can try out

When I switched to i3 Window Manager it started working :)
(i run i3 with compton and 10bit RGB disabled, not sure if those had any impact or if it was i3 itself tho)
I have an AMD GPU (with Mesa driver) tho, not sure if it'll work for you.

Quoting: OneDeltaTenTangoYeah, no joy in windowed mode or fullscreen I get a full black monitor not just the window, whenever the game window has focus. Oddly in windowed mode, I can alt-tab and it renders the screen and game window as long as it doesn't have focus. So I looked around and disabled vsync and for the hell of it got rid of the Nvidia screen taring workaround [External Link] then rebooted and gave it a shot yet still get the black screen.I had the same problem in KDE Plasma.
I'm have a NVIDIA GTX 1080 Driver version 396.24.
Confirmed Vulkan is working with vkmark.
BTW I run Arch...

Quoting: ArehandoroHave you tried installing it through Lutris? That's what I did and I had no problems with Origin whatsoever.Quoting: CAPTNCAPSFollowing those steps, except setting level of Windows to 10, last night couldn't install Origin, always getting some QTWebInterface errors :/Quoting: PompesdeskySomeone put an install script on Lutris https://lutris.net/games/battlefield-4/ [External Link]Quoting: CAPTNCAPSDo you happen to have a link to something explaining how to make BF4 work ? All I can see is a Garbage status for the game on WineHQ and can't find any relevant info on making it actually work :(Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTDoes someone have the possibility to try out Battlefield 3 and 4?BF3 I don't think will work because of Battlelog.
I tried out BF4 tho and it works pretty well! There are a few bugs, and (at least on my AMD card) particles draw as black boxes, which can be pretty irritating. Also Punkbuster is not really happy about us using modified DLLs and you probably will get kicked from servers. Singleplayer and Unranked/No PB Servers should be fine though :)
I was running Medium Settings, 720p on a RX480 at 100-200fps ^-^
But essentially, you need a 64bit Wine 3.5 Prefix with DXVK set to Windows 10 and then it should be enough to install Origin and the game.
