Super! I held on to my key (I think from Humble) in hopes they would actually release a Linux version... have to activate it immediatly. I love scfi games with content.
BTW. I talked to the Dev of "The Norwood Suite" (last month's humble monthly) and he is looking for Linux beta testers (look into the discussions) and also supplied a beta build on request (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share it, so better ask in the thread). If anybody got some time - the game looks good and already runs pretty well according to the other tester in the thread.

When I got CIV6 I was a bit disappointed at first but since then this has turned into appreciation. It is a different game than 5 in more ways than the civs before it differed from their predecessors but the changes mostly make sense and provide more depth to the game than was previously available. I luckily play multiplayer all the times since the biggest problem of the game IMHO is the bad AI at the moment which in turn is probably due to the increased depth of possibilities as compared to previous versions. I would also have a hugh problem with the missing cross platform multiplayer which really shines a bad light on Aspyr at the moment but since the people I play with are on Linux or Mac now it does not matter to me personally right now and I understand the financial rational why patches might be delayed sometimes. Once we achieve cross platform compatibility however that will become more of a problem again. I hope they're going to do better with the big extension!
The 'Humble Staff Picks Bundle: Scribble' seems like a nice deal for Linux gamers

Quoting: GuestAragami and Bioshock seem like okay games, i may get it for them. Has anyone played the Shenzen I/O game? Is it worth to buy? It's a great game if you like complex programming games like TIS-100. The game comes with a nice back story and even material to print out like in the old adventure games. For me that game alone was worth buying the bundle for. There is also a little card game as part of the back story that is really well done.

Quoting: PhlebiacThat's what I do... I always pause the subscription if the "early unlock" games aren't on Linux / to my fancy.I never paused... until last month when they did that crap with Elder Scrolls etc. (worst ever early unlock) - and then missed the best monthly (in my opinion) ever :( (I would have been happy if it would have only contained Shadow Tactics and nothing else ;) - what a cool game!). So this month I took the bundle even though the early unlock (again) sucked... and what should I say... there is not a single game in the bundle that interests me (even if it would come out on Linux later) - that's even worse than the usual "Damn, again nothing good for linux!". But the January early unlock is finally a ray of light! I had The long dark on my wish list and the Dawn of war type of games are my thing, too (I just didn't get to play through II due to lack of time so I didn't even look at III yet (which is why it's not on my wish list)). Quantum Break seems to also be a good game and I'll just trade that with a friend at some time for something that runs for linux... win win.

It would be great to finally have Stardock games on Linux. There are very few titles that I didn't like when I still played things on Windows and I really really wanted OTC to release on Linux :(

I bought this one for Cryptark. The windows game in the $10 Tier you can easily exchange with e.g. the people on barter.vg for a Linux game (I got Interplanetary: Enhanced Edition for it). Apotheon was already part of PS Plus but it is also a sought after game... so trading its key will not be difficult. Pinstripe looks nice and so does The Count Lucanor (possibly for the kids). I'm not decided yet about Slayaway Camp though. I have to say I'm much happier with the last two individual bundles from a Linux perspective than the monthlies...

Finally! I got the key a long time ago from Humble and despite a lot of people trying to get it from me on barter I resisted hoping for a linux port since the developer hinted on maybe doing it... ;) Looking forward to playing it!
Aspyr Media confirm cross-platform multiplayer for Civilization VI with the next patch

a) You can't taunt the CPU ;)
b) Human players behave like humans - you can actually understand their motivations and plan for them unlike the often obscure decisions the AI makes
c) None of the AI opponents matches the skills of a human player - we usually fill up the game with a few AIs and they are always (without exception) in the lower end of the scoring table when we hit mid-game - they just act as a bigger version of barbarians later on. This is especially true for Civ 6 - the AI is atrociously bad at that game.
d) With the AIs the game often is reduced to tactics and numbers - strategy is not really a strength of the AI... it optimizes for the now and in general gets worse the more complex the scenario.
e) The chat alone is worth playing usually with the comments going on there when people wait for any one player to finish up ;) (playing with friends/family - I would never play strangers as I would be afraid that they would not finish a game) - even better if you do the whole thing with people in a room or on a conference line.
f) Simultaneous turns made the whole experience much more exciting and faster. We don't set time limits on turns because they are not necessary anymore. I usually run the games on one of my screens while doing multiple other things on the side. It's at the same time relaxing and engaging ;)

Quoting: KimyrielleI am a huge Civ fan, but it's honestly not a game I'd play multiplayer. Turn-based games and multiplayer don't mix very well IMHO. Still good to see this implemented for the people who wanted it. :)I actually prefer the multiplayer games to just playing against the CPU. The reasons for this are:
a) You can't taunt the CPU ;)
