Story-heavy tactical CRPG 'ATOM RPG 2' announced

Quoting: JarmerYou gotta give #3 a go! It's SOOOO GOOD. I didn't like the overworld traversal all that much, but EVERYTHING else is so well done. The humor is great, and it's got such a good power creep. Mid-game when your builds finally start shining it's just crazy fun to unleash all hell in random encounters.
Oh I fully intend to! It's on my wishlist, just waiting to whittle down my unplayed games a bit more before I pull the trigger on buying anything else.

Story-heavy tactical CRPG 'ATOM RPG 2' announced

Atom just didn't hit for me and I don't know why. I love tactical CRPGs. I love the old Fallout games. I love the first two Wasteland games (haven't gotten around to trying 3 yet). I played Atom for around 23 hours and then quit though, which is very rare for me. Usually I either abandon games within the first 3 hours or I play them all the way through barring game-breaking bugs.

I thought everyone hated Civ VII? I've yet to read a single positive review. Granted I don't go looking for them, so maybe I'm just in a bubble here, but I'm still surprised to see it nominated for anything.

Saber Interactive is a hard pass for me, unfortunately.
Why? Did I miss some big controversy involving them or is it something more personal?

Best cheap Steam Deck / Linux games in the Steam Autumn Sale 2024

Picked up a bunch of old games that I'd always been curious to try but never curious enough to spend more than a few bucks on: Dishonored, Far Cry, and Alan Wake.

Squad-based tactical RPG 'Zoria: Age of Shattering' released with Linux support

I've been bottling this up for years: I fucking hate crafting. I abhor every aspect of it and it annoys the hell out of me that every single game contains it now. Doesn't matter if it's an RPG, a shooter, or whatever. They are all crafting games now.

Grab Mordheim: City of the Damned free during the GOG New Year Sale 2024

I fucking LOVE Mordheim (the actual tabletop game, not the video game). The video game version is decent and I really wish they had been successful enough to finish it. I would have gladly paid for DLC that contained every warband.

This thing has been on my wishlist so long that I forgot about it. Played a demo during a Steam Fest years ago and liked the atmosphere. Looking forward to playing it again in another 10 years when it finally releases.

Marvel's Midnight Suns and Two Point Campus headline Humble Choice for January 2024

I still can't get Midnight Suns to launch. I've tried all of the tricks on ProtonDB* but nothing happens. It just doesn't launch.

*except for using "Glorious Eggroll" - I still have absolutely no idea what that is, how to get it, or how to use it.

Building a Retro Linux Gaming Computer - Part 18: Run Away and Join the Circus

I stripped my grandfather's old Dell and turned it into a gaming computer for my daughter when she was 4. It had Circus Linux, Super Tux, and a bunch of old point n' clicks like the Pajama Sams and Putt Putts. She never really got into it.
