I love 4Xs but real-time combat is a deal breaker for me.
I love the fact that as a Linux gamer I can actually afford to be picky now.

Two weeks ago I was playing Darkest Dungeon and loving every minute of it. Normally I don't care for high difficulty games but after beating Sunless Sea without saving or cheating I thought I'd give it a shot. Apparently I like hard games as long as the writing is strong enough.
But for the past two weeks I've been playing this game called Real Life: Work and Parenting Edition. It's really hard and pretty boring but the graphics are awesome!

This pre-alpha video of BATTLETECH looks quite amazing

Yeah that's why they've earned my loyalty. Shadowrun 2e was my life in high school. And I haven't played Hong Kong yet (I am really too poor for this hobby, lol) but both Returns and Dragonfall blew me away. Like I said, I'm indifferent to Battletech, but at this point I'd play any TBS from them even if it was Hello Kitty. Lol

I've honestly never cared about the license, but Harebrained Schemes have earned a certain level of loyalty from me and my ears always perk up at the words "turn-based" strategy, so I'll be keeping an eye on this.

Been playing the hell out of this for the past few weeks. Hadn't encountered any bugs but I'm glad they're still working on it.
Battlestation: Harbinger changing its name due to trademark troubles, new update soon too

Honestly, I think companies should only be granted trademark protection over one single word at a time. Apple can be "Apple" if they want, but not "Macintosh," or "iAnything." If inXile wants to trademark "Wasteland" they can, but in doing so they lose the rights to the words "inXile" and "Torment."
Obviously there are flaws in this plan, but I think that it would quickly change the culture and make companies loosen up so that they would only bother going after actually damaging infringements.

Sunless Sea. I can't stop! The game is definitely not for everyone, but I love it.

Binged Metro Last Light earlier this month. Really enjoyed it. I love shooters in theory, but hate it when you're forced into heavy combat. Metro, Stalker, and Hitman are perfect for me because they allow me to play a more cerebral game full of stealth and important decisions. Yet oddly I hate "stealth games." I'm a complicated fellow. Lol
Now I'm onto Sunless Sea. Lost my first captain to an ice monster. My second is fairing better but is a bit of a cannibal and has terrible nightmares. Loving this game.
