Xfce 4.20 desktop released with experimental Wayland support

In my opinion, when I have looked at at other environments with Wayland, it feels heavy. No not the bloat that most other Distros have, but Wayland itself. I'm so used to X11, but then just add NVIDIA driver and everything is fine. The question is why are Xfce going with Wayland? I have used Xfce for years now and it is fine as it is. Why try to fix something that does not need fixing? Call me old school if you like? I prefer the X11, as X11 is still needed in Wayland, so what is the big deal about Wayland? I can see Xfce not being light anymore, it will become heavy with Wayland support. This is just my opinion and I am not a programmer, but a user of Xfce and to my mind it is fine the way it is.

You cannot beat the original Resident Evil 2.
Looking forward to this being released and will be playing it on my ArcoLinux Gaming PC. I've finally taken the plunge and moved to Linux full time for gaming, as before relying on Windows. Just played through Uncharted 4 through Proton and can honestly say I am enjoying gaming in Linux. I poo pooed Proton when it first released and thought it would never get off the ground, but that was mainly in it's first year. Since then, with the Steam-Deck release and the amazing work done in Proton and WINE for us to be able to play PC games, from nearly on first day release, is amazing.

Old School Rally plans full support for Steam Deck - got me feeling nostalgic

Reminds me of V-Rally on the PS1. Many late nights on that game. Graphics doesn't have to be perfect all the time for a game, it's if it's fun or not? 32-bit games were so much fun, came on a disc and you had the full game in your hand. No patch updates, as the Internet back then was not as popular in households as it is now. I yearn for those days back again.

The 6.5.0-14 runs out in August. I'm using Linux Mint 21.3 Xfce edition. Just upgraded using sed -i command. No doubt be updating Kernel up to 6.5.0-16 and so on like the 5.15 ones do? I've had no problem with it at all. Clem and his team know what they're doing.
Snap store from Canonical hit with malicious apps

Quoting: slaapliedjeI create my own, only use two AppImages. Kdenlive and Audacity. Every time an upgrade is downloaded, just change the version number in the .desktop file and of course delete the old .AppImages. I'm old school and believe in DIM (Do It Myself.) That is one of the things that Windows users, when coming over to Linux don't realise, they have to do some technical stuff themselves, to get some things done. It isn't all handed to you on a plate and it is that aspect of Linux I like. Linux teaches you at the same time as using it.
The only thing missing with AppImages for me is that they don't all seem to create a proper .desktop file automatically.

I remember when Snap Packages were just being introduced. At that time I was running Peppermint OS 8 and was helping people out on the Peppermint Forums. The amount of hate for Snap Packages, for them not installing properly, excluding a lot of features, that the original Deb package has. We sent people to Canonical to complain there and directed people to install the original Deb package, as it will take up far less resources and work straight away, along with all the features.
Then about a year later Malware was found embedded in a Snap Package. My hate for Snap Packages evolved from the amount of complaints and for the fact they run slow, take up way too many resources. Flatpaks at least actually work, AppImages are even better in my opinion, as everything is together in one single download file. Kdenlive AppImage for example is made by the KDE team, so you can run the latest version. I wish for a world without Snap Packages, that's why I run Linux Mint Xfce edition.

I bought this and can only use my PS4 controller. XBOX 360 controller is not calibrated properly, to move character you end up pushing the left stick diagonally. PS4 controller works fine. Disappointed with the response, as this game is a Naughty Dog masterpiece. Though like with every game these days, there are bugs on different hardware. You would think with all the tech we have, that by now Graphic cards would not have to still rely on software to run the latest games. Will they ever build a Graphic Card that has the drivers already built into it? I've been running this game in 2048x1152 resolution and it runs better than in 1440p. Though my builds are not anything to ride home with. Currently saving up to upgrade my CPU to RYZEN 7 5700X 8 Cores 16 threads, Motherboard ASUS B550 -F, Ram up to 32GB. Have been playing this game in Windows, will try it out in Linux soon.

Wish they'd also sort the font scaling out? You load Steam up and the fonts are so small, needing to squint to read anything. In Linux Mint Cinnamon it's fine as you can scale your screen, but in Xfce screen scaling is not so good.
