Quoting: MintedGamerHas anyone actually ever had a survey on Linux? I have 3 Linux machines that regularly run Steam games and have the steam client loaded at startup and I've not once had a survey.I have the steam client in my machine for over a yerar, and I never has a survey. But I believe than these datas from Steam is close of reality. We need still play in Linux to go up the Linux percent.

Quoting: barottoAnd this is hardly surprising, given the fact that there are zero-nada-null-zilch reasons for a PC gamer to not use Windows. There are many reasons for a regular user to use Linux (stability, security, better update system, more customization options, the O.S. is free and you do not need to resort to piracy, ...) therefore it would be great to take all these advantages to PC gamers, the Linux devantagens cited by you, not are because Windows is better as a S.O. , but because manufacturers/developers of games still do not give due attention to Linux. And the monopoly of Microsft is good for PC gamers? And with all the current disadvantages Linux still has almost 1% of the players of Steam, imagine if support for Linux was equal to Windows? As this percentage would go up?
Given the grim situation, I would say 0.85% is a surprisingly high value.

I understand that the overall growth in the number of steam players grew more than the variation in the number of Linux players, but I'm upset to see that Linux does not reach at least 1% on data from Steam. Does SteamOs add a percentage to this data? Will the Steam Machines sold well? It would not be the self-interest of Valve show SteamOs in statistics? Eager to see the Linux achieve a significant percentage on data from Steam.
Quoting: Comandante oardoA lot of people is using Steam on Linux via WINe, How the statistics of the Steam Hardware Survey recognize those accounts?.. As Windows XP users? As Others?Good question, I also have this doubt.
