I've been playing through the 29a-e series and having fun (and hitting a crash bug). The developer had a fix out next day after I reported it on the forum, and even offered to fix up my save.
Right now my heavily fortified village looks out over wide fields covered in evil and slime spawns. It'll be interesting to see how the 30 series of updates changes that outlook.

Lugaru in Overgrowth is really a test game for the new engine. It has been used to ensure that all of the gameplay that was present in Lugaru works in Overgrowth, that the mechanics of story-telling, combat and other interactions are all functional. I've completed roughly 60% of the Lugaru-in-Overgrowth game and it has pretty much the same feel as the original Lugaru, while being vastly better graphically.

Quoting: morbiusI should really pick up Metro Redux games, but I won't be able to play them before I buy a new computer anyway, so there is no rush.Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux runs pretty nicely on my AMD FX8350 with GeForce 660. That's a Christmas 2012 vintage PC...
What have you been playing recently, and what do you think?

Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux - these are atmospheric stealth/shooters with strong story elements set amidst the survivors of a nuclear war scrapping it out in the Russian Metro.
Toribash - still working on my black belt, still getting schooled by the 3rd Dans.
My children are playing minetest with a long list of mods applied.

Once it's out and looks stable, this will most likely be a "must buy" for me. The original SPAZ was and is awesome. The development shots show that the 3D is more for looks and a top down view still exists for the old schoolers. It'll be interesting to see how the AI plays out - that may make or break the game, as the other AIs look to have a key role to play in SPAZ2.

I think you folks are over thinking this:
Mars - Roman God of War
808 SB12S - Lyric from MC Hammer
Warhammer - in one of it's incarnations.

My short form reading of those posts basically points to the incredible strain of constantly reporting updates, blog posts and making monthly release videos in the public eye rather than concentrating on getting the game to completion. Since last year, it looks like Josh has returned to the development groove and maybe we'll see where the project is some time this year. I wish him well - Limit Theory is a massive project for one developer, and with any procedural game, getting it to scale up and remain interesting is a difficult challenge.

Quoting: TheRiddickWell there is Limit Theory, that might make it to Linux and is basically this. Thought I think the developer has had some mental issues lately (probably common for people with VERY high IQ's like him).Josh Parnell posted some more positive news over the last few months.

I've been coding for 25 years - looking at the keys slows you down too much. Remembering where the {} [] braces are is only time I tend to flick my eyes down, since they can't be reached without lifting off the J key.

Quoting: tuubiMy keyboard no longer has visible letters on the left side of the home row where I rest my hand. ASDFEXCVNML are all basically gone. It doesn't bother me but it totally throws the majority of people who try and use the keyboard.Quoting: dean36963Perfect game if you want to check that you can touch type in a hurry!Makes no difference if you can touch type, I'd imagine. ;)
But this game could be very tense if your keyboard looks like this:

SUPERHOT (the most innovative shooter I've played in years) ;-)
Overgrowth (which finally is starting to show some chance that it might actually get finished)

Ok - new build on Steam last night, which allowed me to finish the final parts of the story mode, which as other commentators have pointed out, takes about two hours. I'll keep quiet about the final act.
... but wait, that's not all the game. Now the rest of the game unlocks.
Challenge modes. Endless modes, Cleverly thought out ways to keep playing this game. This is more a thinking puzzler that happens to be a first person shooter. There are so many nice touches to this game, from slicing bullets with the sword to blowing out a window next to enemy causing them to drop their weapon.
Basically, if you enjoy the basic mechanisms here, I can easily see plunging thirty or forty hours into to explore the secrets, unlock all the challenges. I still haven't found the chain ...
I backed the Kickstarter. For a change, I don't regret that.
