A bit too shady for me to test it now.
I'll wait until it's properly open-sourced.

Having VR issues on Linux? You should look to disable async reprojection

I had big hopes for async reprojection that could finally fix the choppy head rotation I experience in No Man Sky VR...
It seems I'll still have to wait for another fix :/

Didn't last long: Back 4 Blood no longer working on Linux with Proton

I knew it, because it was running with ProtonGE without any official announcement, it was certain that EAC check was deactivated server side for Linux users.

Looks like the fresh Back 4 Blood Beta is working on Linux with Proton GE

I tried the free open beta actually available and while it launches without issue, it's completely unplayable for me.
Each time I start a game I get disconnected after a few seconds/minutes.

Quoting: Nevertheless
Quoting: BielFPsI'm not a kde user, but I am a fan of some of their software like Krita and Kdenlive, so I'm happy that their efforts are being recognized and hope that those improves include their wayland compositor too.

I would be maybe.. but somehow I have the feeling KDE and Nvidia aren't friends...
Even the installation of Fedora KDE crashes all the time for me.

I tried KDE Plasma on Fedora 34 recently and it seems to work well.
I had 2 issues though:
- I don't know why but the Discord app keeps crashing when launched on Plasma (the same app is perfectly stable on Gnome), it may be a flatpak issue though.
- I have 2 screens and my wallpaper has the resolution of my 2 screens combined. I didn't find the option to span the wallpaper on the 2 screens at once.

Quoting: damarrinTo rain a little on everyone's parade (mine included), people on another gaming website I go to have been saying en masse how it's an instant Windows install for it to be even remotely useful. That's what the "general public" thinks, unfortunately :-(

I think realistically only a very tiny percentage of people are interested in installing OSes at all. And many of those who do, would prefer Linux. Regular user simply isn't interested or not even sure how to install an OS, no matter Linux or Windows. So I wouldn't worry about the above at all.

So if you want to analyze the "general public" - it's a major plus that device is coming with Linux preinstalled, because that's what they'll be using.
I also share this concern than most people will put Windows on it, even if Valve nailed Proton compatibility and performance, those who use the Microsoft Gamepass will want it on the device too and we can't do anything against that.

I can't wait to retest some titles that was struggling in VR (No man sky) and see if it's finally playable with async reprojection :)

Does it have thunderbolt 3?
So we could plug a GPU enclosure to it.
