Well adding it in non-beta won't do any harm as it add's more HID for udev to manage.

interestingly I popped over to the gentoo wiki page I created to update the entry and someone had added a HTC vive HID entry.

# HTC Vive HID Sensor naming and permissioning
KERNEL=="hidraw*", SUBSYSTEM=="hidraw", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0bb4", ATTRS{idProduct}=="2c87", MODE="0666"

So the article goes on to explain that OGL structure is inherently slow thus games using it will be slower then says vulkan won't make things faster

The Steam Hardware Survey for September 2016 shows Linux has grown some more
2 Oct 2016 at 9:10 am UTC

Well early reports is that Win10 is losing "market share" could be a statistical anomaly ... would need to wait till next month to really see if there is a hint of a trend
http://betanews.com/2016/10/01/wtf-windows-10-losing-share/ [External Link]

The steam survey sort of lines up with this as well

Windows 10 64 bit 47.48% +0.04%
Windows 10 1.42% -0.09%

thats a net loss of 0.05% tiny and maybe a one off

I have two steam controller & they are great. I do not have a games console so the whole "but xbox is better" is moot to me. My 9yo is quite good with these controllers as well for the likes of overlord and portal + a couple of RPG games.

decal's look interesting... shame they only let you can't buy multiple of the same type in one go

Planet Nomads looks incredible and it's officially coming to Linux this month

I liked the idea of NMS but its seeming very repetitive and no linux.

Now this... is interesting. Survival, building. What happens when you get off your planet though? all the gameplay has shown you having to survive, build a base etc...
