Tomb Raider, the excellent 2013 game is officially coming to Linux from Feral Interactive

The Spring Equinox/Stonehenge hint was separate from the radar and just for Linux, so it was likely to already have a mac port; hence Tomb Raider (which also fitted well with the mystery hinting style).

Quoting: GBeeSee ... I said that the new item on the Radar was Tomb Raider, but everyone was so certain that it was Five Nights at Freddy's."F-Foxy" is still on radar for Mac and Linux, along with "-e^(i π) = ?" for Mac & Linux, "Depth Charge" for Linux and Mac, Sleeping Dogs just for Mac, "Starship Enterprise?" for Mac and "Pathetic Earthlings" for Mac.

Wine staging 1.9.6 adds Vulkan support and disables CSMT

It would essentially be writing a complete DX11 graphics driver (and all its optimisations) from scratch, which is way too much work, for little to no reward.
Right now all they are doing is:
* Translating DX9&10 (and some of 11) to native Open GL
* Translating windows Open GL to native Open GL
* Translating windows Vulkan to native Vulkan
In future they might (hopefully):
* Finish DX11 [External Link] to native Open GL (very hard)
* Translate windows DX12 to native Vulkan (less hard)

Quoting: stssSo right now does this only run windows Vulkan games on Linux, or can you actually run pre-Vulkan/DX12 games in Vulkan?Wine will not (ever?) translate DX9/10/11 (or OpenGL) to Vulkan.
If so I wonder if this could actually get better FPS on Linux in a lot of Windows games when Vulkan becomes more developed.

Good to hear it fixes the __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS=0 slash __GLVND_DISALLOW_PATCHING=1 problem!
I wonder how long until it makes it into the Arch package, the bump to 361.28 happened the same day as release, but the original 361.16 took two days, 358.16 was one day.
In any case it's already appeared in the nvidia-beta AUR package, though I think I'll hold off rather than switching packages.

Quoting: TheBossJust noticed it also introduced a new xpad bug... [External Link]Quoting: mattsturgeon4.5 also has a lot of fixes for the xpad driver, including a fix for a really annoying crash [External Link] in a lot of games that was related to controller vibration (or sometimes LEDs)I did wonder when that was going to finally be put in.

What game would you most like to see on Linux this year?

I'd really love to see GTA V and Fallout 4. GTA is the only Windows game I have, and I'd definitely buy F4 for linux.
Sadly I don't think either will ever happen.

Quoting: PeciskShader compiling could be spread on all GPUs and CPUs available though.Shader compiling to Spir V is done by the developer before release. Spir V is low level binary that is understood by a Vulkan compatible GPU, as far as I understand it, it is similar to the binary instructions used on a CPU
