Battle for Wesnoth is enjoyable. Until you get totally raped in higher levels, of course :P

Experimenting with Steam's In-Home Streaming

Regarding video sync issues: I don't know how this would work in practice but makes a sense as a mental experiment...

Sync the clocks of both rigs to a high precision (NTP?). Run a cron job at the same time on both machines for a task that leaves a visual clue. Of course this task should not be resource-intensive (xev?) to eliminate differences in rig performance. The screen recording(s) should be started beforehand, obviously.

Sync the recordings in post-processing based on the visual clue.

Nice video :) However, the recordings are not in sync, the client actually runs ahead of the server. This basically renders all latency comments unsubstantiated :]

Also, how is it doing with client input?

Probably won't use it for now as I don't have 2 rigs with a practical form factor at the moment.
Oh and all windows in the house lead to my neighborhood ;)

Space Pioneer By Space Enigma Studios To Support Linux

Nice find :)

Although 'scientific accuracy' is we are nowhere near the technology to transport humans safely (at a somewhat practical cost) to even as far as Mars at the moment. High hopes for the 22nd century :)

Steam Runtime Changes Inbound For Linux

It is just a personal thing. I'd like to have it ingame so I would not need to worry about two things running. It supposedly switches to ingame music when you open up the menu and you can't have it on linux.

Yes, you are right about content. I tried the promods mod btw and it is great to have a lot more countries but it has some sort of texture rendering issues on my machine. A general linux problem perhaps?

The whole point is to have linux treated equally and not as some sort of a bastard child. We all pay for the game just the same.

ETS 2 up to this day can't play mp3 files and various radio streams on linux due to the so-called 'copyright issues' :/

More like a laziness issue imho

SteamOS Gains An AMD Preview Graphics Driver
8 Jan 2014 at 6:25 pm UTC

This is one of the single best reasons SteamOS will make Linux better on the whole, companies are getting their acts together to fix up their Linux support and things can only get better from here.
It would be true if AMD released the fixes to everyone.
