Quoting: gojulThe Witcher 3 GOTY works like a charm w/ this release (except a bit of lag from time to time but not that much) ! Thanks to them for all this hard work !
Any water or monster rendering issues you can see?

Valve has removed the Steam Machine section from Steam

I don't want to be overly optimistic but this could mean many things. I guess now it's important to watch what happens with SteamOS and Valve's contributions to the Linux platform such as graphics driver development.

If they stop with that too that would be unfortunate. If they do, I think it'd be best if someone filled that vacuum by developing another gaming-oriented distro.

I will probably run a Snow Day tournament and call it "Snow Day Tryhards". Probably.

Wine 3.4 released with more Vulkan support

I think it's important to remember that the moment when Wine runs new games so well that native Linux ports are "unnecessary" is also the very same moment when it truly doesn't matter if you play new games on Windows or Linux and running Windows is also unnecessary.

Wine 3.4 released with more Vulkan support

Quoting: KimyrielleWINE has come -such- a long way from three years ago, when I was considering it basically useless for the type of Windows games I want to use it for (mostly more recent games using DX11, not twenty year old retro games). Now? It runs almost all of my legacy Windows games more or less flawlessly. Sims 3/4, Star Trek Online, Champions Online, Guild Wars 2, Skyrim... all works. Not not only works, but works well! With a bit more work on the D3D bits, I guess it will soon run Fallout 4 and Elder Scrolls Online nicely, too. Both of these games already run for me, but with fairly major issues.

Overall I am really impressed. A few months ago, I became a 100% Linux user when my Windows partition got corrupted and I decided that this was a signal from the Penguin gods to finally do away with it for good. WINE helps me to still run the few non-Linux games I still crave, and is a nice insurance in case some of the publishers currently supporting Linux decide not to anymore.
Could you elaborate on the problems in F4? I'm waiting for a good moment to start playing it.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm is officially coming to Linux, port from Feral Interactive

Quoting: g000hSo, this is the "Just a shot away" teaser from the Feral Radar.

Looking back at the previous thread, qptain Nemo successfully guessed this game based on Rolling Stones' Gimme Shelter Lyrics.

I'm interested in purchase too, but will hold off until it is counted as a Linux sale. (Also noting that I wouldn't be purchasing it if it wasn't coming to Linux.)
I had some nice help!

It's very nice to know for sure.

I'll be buying it on day one.

A new OpenRA release adds the full Harkonnen campaign for Dune 2000 and more

Which titles has EA released as freeware? I'm trying to find information on that and can only find mentions of the original Command & Conquer, Tiberian Sun and Red Alert.

After some more research, looks like those three games are it: C&C Tiberian Sun, C&C: Tiberian Dawn and C&C: Red Alert. The presence of Dune 2000 assets would appear to be legally dubious but at least it also seems like that title might be in a bit of legal limbo and not fully owned by EA and thus probably safe from any pursuit.

Can you hear that? It's the Steam sales train and it's arrived, also Steam Wishlist revamp

Quoting: KallestofelesOh no, with the wishlist revamp, they also removed old games from it which were no longer available on Steam... used to have Divinity 2: Ego Draconis saga there as a reminder... well, it's all just in my head now. :D
Dammit, you're right! I had Barbie Dreamhouse Party in my wishlist as a cool separator that cannot be bought or gifted, and now it's gone. :'(

At least I don't actually need a wishlist separator for Linux/non-linux games anymore since the supported platforms are displayed clearly for every game as well as filtering is in place.

Wine 3.2 released with gamepad improvements and more Direct3D work

It seems very important then to prioritize upstreaming of those patches, so they're not just lost, even temporarily. Continued maintenance of wine-staging would be very nice, especially if it's maintained at the same level of quality as before, but it seems secondary.
