Awesome! You can't write too many of these articles! Keep them coming and I'll never stop supporting this site! ;)
The Witcher 3 didn't come to Linux likely as a result of the user-backlash from The Witcher 2

I think gamers in generally seem to be expressing a lot of weird frustration over the products they use. Games do tend to become very personal to the practitioners. Just like drugs. :)
Usually none of this should really matter to the producers of a game as they're tracking sale numbers rather than love. I find it to be a weird reason to cancel a port to linux because of lack of love. How much does it cost to do a port? How many people can you get to buy it? If the difference is positive, then it's economic madness not to port. It does seem to be too expensive to write ports for linux still. I wonder why that is... We as a linux game community should invest in finding out how the costs could be lowered for game production companies. When we solve this, then all games will be ported (unless there's some irrational linux hatred)

The heavy metal towers really made want to buy this game! :-D
It's suspiciously bad programming to not make windows and linux compatible for online play. As a programmer I can only shake my head in disbelief. However, there's nothing wrong with the rest of the game experience. Besides, friends don't let friends run Windows when they can run Linux.

It's a dumb move. Unity is great and going back to GNOME for no good reason is just feels like a betrayal. What's the benefit for the user who already picked Ubuntu with Unity and liked it?! :-(

Dumb question: How do I make my Ubuntu 16.04 run with Vulkan instead of OpenGL and is there a negative impact to this?
Ballistic Overkill is one Unity title that may see an update with Vulkan

Maybe Gamingonlinux could help coordinate a legal action against people who take advantage of this scheme? After all it's unlawful in Europe to behave this way and it might be in the US too. If you market an intention and collect money based on this marketing you need to keep your promises. However, if noone is prepared to uphold the law it won't matter. I deem it likely that these clever people will be forced to produce the copy or pay what ever the cusomters think the damages were from this scheme. Marketing laws are in fact extremely strict.
What have you been playing recently and how is it?

Life is strange - excellent performance, and a nice experience. Playing with my wife.
SOMA - Excellent performance, exciting game.
Pillars of Eternity - surprisingly deep dialogue which keeps the game play engaging.
