Just started No Man's Sky last night, using proton 4.11. it seems cute. And runs ok for what appears to be a console port. I've never really gotten into the survival craft games, finding them tedious. I was kinda hoping it was more in the Morrowind / STALKER vein of game, But I'm going to give it a shot.

Remaster? Like the game from 2005? I think that's the last one I "played", and by that I mostly played the Rome: Total Realism conversation. I wonder if those old mods would still work. Prolly not with the visuals, but the data... There's hope.
One thing I really liked was how your "generals" could gain traits, bonuses, and penalties based on thier performance or training you send them too. I really liked that feature, it made your leaders seen more real. I wish other 4x games did that.

They are only two things the user hates: change and the way things are.
Sorry, not trying to pick on you, just figured I'd be nice add a little humor. Congrats to the gnome team, sounds like a lot of hard work.

Quoting: damarrinWith every release Gnome becomes more of a MacOS rip off. It's not even in inspiration territory any more, it's all lifted straight from there.I think doing anything else would violate the two rules of satisfaction:

A new enemy faction would be cool. Something aside from the bugs. Maybe a new world tile set would be nice. Maybe robots or something that potentially would use the use same resources you need.

Both are great games.
But both are pretty much one and done though. I really have no desire to play them after having already played them.
I actually played it on a steam link several years ago. The babies loved watching me play it.

I only played it recently a few years ago. It's actually quite fun. I never realized how many pop culture references it spawned until I played the series.

I image the benefit of this would be to have a working example of "drop-in" support for a port, albeit an old one.
Coupled with Proton libs, its not far fetched to see a Valve maintained, Steam only, linux "wrapper" for your game to get extra Linux sales. Make the barrier low enough and there's not really a reason for a dev not to "push the linux button". If the barrier to wrap a game is stupidly low, Valve could even charge extra for it.
We can argue wether or not a wine/DXVK wrapper around a game is a "real" port or not. But in the end, it will run on linux, and that's what most people really want.

Quoting: tuubiTo be fair, the Gnome calculator is just Calculator, and Galculator is an unrelated project. But yeah, the name is silly.I did not know that. Thanks for the info. I guess I'm a little biased into believing every app that starts with a K or G is one of thier projects ( I see you trying to sneak away there too, Q).
